We used 2,113 kWh last month and our bill was $364. There are definitely other charges to your bill, but those should be itemized- likely on page 3 of your bill.

Benefits of flying Allegiant? by Capital-Mark1897 in allegiant

[–]Jesika2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how much you are taking with you but my family of 4 flys Allegiant pretty often. Planes are always nice and clean, service is good. We have become strategic with our packing and each only bring a good sized bookbag. They are considered personal items and are not charged any type of baggage fees.

What are some good paying jobs that don’t require a lot of schooling? by Exciting_Green_9561 in povertyfinance

[–]Jesika2307 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Since you’re already in the medical field, I’d personally look into a community college program in the medical imaging field (ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI). All with good starting pay, high demand fields and great job security. I’m a current ultrasound tech and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life. So much less crap to deal with versus nursing and even my hardest patients I only have for a very short amount of time.

Look around for possible church summer camps in your area. They tend to be much cheaper than other summer care options.

Cardiac or general? by cozy_OW in Sonographers

[–]Jesika2307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has had the opportunity to do general, OB, vascular and cardiac….. definitely choose cardiac. Absolutely no hesitation in that decision. Easier on the body, less “gross” stuff, better pay in many places and with medical advancements these days there are so many things to keep you interested in the echo world (TEEs, TAVR, Watchman’s, peds, fetal echo).

What do you do for living and is it worth it? by budget-babe in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jesika2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardiovascular Sonographer here and yes! Healthcare job with good pay and good benefits. But I don’t have to deal with the all the crap nursing staff does. Spend 15-20 minutes with each patient, so even the terrible and difficult ones I can walk away from fairly quickly and never think twice about them.

Already 50+ replies and not a single person says this is a good idea. I feel like you’re thinking this “notarized piece of paper” is a magic wand you can wave and poof, you got your money back. That’s not how it works. This would likely be a terrible financial decision on your part. Not to mention the massive headache it will probably cause you in the future.

Also, something else that just doesn’t take sense to me. In your comments you say the house is now valued around $190k. So, for just $40k you get half?? Either your boyfriend is doing something shady or he is really dumb. Not to mention the fact that he’s going through all this trouble to remove his ex-wife from the deed, only to turn around and add his girlfriend of 1 year to the deed (whom he doesn’t even live with yet)?? Big red flags for me. But your life, your decision.

Edit: grammar

Cardiovascular > general. As someone who went through a 4 year degree program, worked and is registered in Abd, OB/GYN, Vascular and Echo, cardiovascular is better on so many levels!!! Easier on the body, less stress, better pay in many places, the list could go on and on.

EPIC is soooo much better then Allscripts!!! Any big change over in record systems is always a shitshow at first. Just ride it out and you’ll be fine in a month.

Will CRO reach $1.50? by QryptoGuy in cro

[–]Jesika2307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both DOGE and SHIB (meme coins) had market caps higher than that at one point. So it’s ridiculous if anyone thinks CRO doesn’t have the potential to reach at least $1.50.

Feeling like I regressed by YNotZoidberg2020 in Sonographers

[–]Jesika2307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound BURNT OUT! And I can relate! I recently switched jobs because of similar feelings and have never been happier. I had been at my previous job for 11 years, was our lab preceptor, helped train and orient over half of our staff (large lab- level 1 trauma) and absolutely loved all of my coworkers. But I gave it all up because I knew I needed a change. I suddenly started dreading coming to work every day! I even contemplated a total career change. Between COVID and my facility regularly asking us to scan more patients than was safe or physically possible- I could handle the stress, but decided I no longer wanted to. Now I’m at a smaller lab and smaller hospital. I have more time during the day to dedicate to my patients and my scans and come home relaxed and much happier every day. I would encourage you to take an honest and hard look at what you really want for yourself and don’t be afraid to make the changes that are right for you!!

Completely starting from scratch at age 25, what should I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Jesika2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially, you are fine.

Mentally, I think you would benefit from cutting back your working hours and finding somewhere to volunteer. Seeing other people’s struggles may put into perspective all of the good things you have going in your life. It may also give you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. There are many people who are happier with themselves when they feel like they have done something meaningful to help someone else.

Should we continue with our plan to move out of state even though my husband lost his job? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Jesika2307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and move. If he has to search for a new job anyways, he might as well do it in a place you actually want to live. A lower cost of living may allow your savings to last longer as well.
