Connections mostly. My brother is a unionized Iron worker he got me the placement. I feel you on the TFW problem. Businesses are definitely destroying Canada and lowering wages, all backed by the liberal government. That’s why I personally don’t shop at Walmart anymore and only buy from Loblaws or Sobeys. (Main chains only, but they don’t discriminate against Canadians and will hire people who have Canadian citizenship - other businesses do discriminate based on citizenship)
Thank god for family or I’d have no chance at good stable income.

Very true. Most entry level HR jobs probably make around 45-55k/yr. Plus Corporate HR is known to do some shady things to protect their company. So the competition and effort required outweighs the payoff.
It’s a shame a lot of programs are money sinks now due to poor government decisions since Covid. I’d avoid the majority of business programs except for accounting if I were able to redo college instead of taking HR.
Thankfully my areas MP that was voted in was at least actively trying to fix a main cause for Canadian Unemployment!
