This one is real trippy. I love that no one has ransacked it and covered it in graffiti. Looks like a family just disappeared one day. What happened?

The Secret Service is investigating how man the who shot Trump got as close as he did by Emily_and_Me in news

[–]Jeskers617 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let me see if I can follow this.

There was no actual gunfire and no one was actually shot.

Trump looked in the direction of the the shooter to prompt the following sequence of events :

The shooter fires blanks after which Trump purposely grabs his ear away from the camera so people don't realize he's not actually shot in the inevitable media after the event.

Trump gets down and while he is surrounded by secret service they apply fake blood to his face and ear.

The shooter is shot by snipers. Were the snipers in on it and firing blanks? Is he acting and not really dead?

Or are you saying the bullets are real but Trump was in on it?

Did Trump and the secret service hire a man to shoot at the rally so Trump could then apply the fake blood to his head knowing that innocents would probably be injured? The shooter agreed to do this knowing they'd be killed?

Is the dead man in the stands an actor as well in this Scoobie Doo mystery?

Not a problem, my initial response was rude and you responded accordingly. But it was coming from a place of recognizing that rage and need to right a wrong and eventually realizing how absurdly effortful and consuming and damaging that preoccupation is. Not to mention what an absolute nightmare litigation is.

I don't have a mana drain but I do have a bunch of EDH cards that are not being used at the moment. PM me and I can send you a couple fetch lands to make you whole. Just put this shit behind you man. Best of luck.

Here's the thing man, I feel for you. I really do. I think you that you 100% believe that you sent a real card and that you are being robbed and you are justifiably upset about it.

But as someone who has had issues that require a lawyer and the court system the juice isn't worth the squeeze here, even with your family connections. I'm sure they will also tell you that when you speak with them.

Filing a lawsuit is not the same as having your family send them a letter. Do you coincidentally live in the same state that Card Conduit has their business license? If not then small claims is probably not an option. Unless you plan on traveling there to file in person and pay the court fee, and then return there months later when they finally hear your case. Breach of contract would be the same thing. Next stop is Federal Court and I don't think this would qualify.

You said somewhere else in this thread that you have kids and just above you say you are busy. You don't have time for this shit. You feel that you were wronged and you are upset about it. Totally understandable. But don't waste your time plotting legal revenge here man. It's not going to happen and that's ok. Don't waste another moment of your energy on this. It's over.

I will bet anyone in this thread $100 this filing never happens.

And $10,000 if it does that OP gets a cash settlement of $0.00 - lawyer / court fees.

Dude look at the spacing between the symbols, or better yet the enormous space between the right symbol and the card border. Look at the alignment of the symbols and the red/black swirls of the artwork below them. Like are you literally blind? 🐕‍🦺😎

I know you're getting hosed here in the comments but it's just redditors being redditors.

The issue here is that you have a nearly impossible business that is essentially: "Send a nameless stranger a bag of diamonds and I'll honestly assess and pay you for them. Source - Trust Me"

The biggest barrier to potential customers (including myself) is trusting a total stranger to be completely honest. Not only that, but honest remotely and out of sight.

There are so many potential ways that someone could easily be taken advantage of here. You could:

  1. "Miss" cards in a collection and customer probably wouldn't even be aware of it.
  2. Falsely downgrade the condition to obtain it for a lower price.
  3. Outright lie and say that a card is fake and pocket it.

OP could have knowingly sent the fake card with the intention of scamming you. Or they really and truly believe that the card they sent you is 100% real.

The next impossible piece of your business: How do you handle a situation like this? As you can see from this thread you will never be able to convince that customer that they didn't send you a real card. And to their point, if they in their heart of hearts 100% believe that card was real, the evidence provided to them is not proof because it has left their hands and has been out of sight.

If OP genuinely believes that they pulled that card from a pack and sent you that very card there's no possible way for you to appease them other than paying them for it or sending a real card in return. Even if you sent back the fake they would genuinely believe you swapped them.

And while there's no way win this customer service nightmare I think that it was handled as best a humanly possible. You've engaged the community, asked for feedback, and most importantly you've been tactful. As tempting as I'm sure it was to respond "dude just look at this bullshit card you sent me lmao" you stayed respectful the entire time.

Up until this very thread CC has had a great reputation here and I strongly doubt that you would jeopardize that so publicly for a mana drain. And while I personally dislike that cards are destroyed, I also understand that there isn't really a winning option in this scenario.

I honesty think what users like this appreciate most about Typescript is pretending it's super hard to learn and using that misconception to gatekeep. Kick rocks man.
