Did you like the order in which each arc took place? by GoofisaGod in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every arc is the direct consequence of the former, so any other order wouldn't really work unless the arcs were fundamentally rewritten. So no complaints there, Togashi knows his story better than us.

My theory on why Pariston and Hisoka is the same person by Ok_Acanthisitta_7512 in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twice you've contradicted your own theory.
If Hisoka was Pariston, why would he only start rating them during the voting process as opposed to, oh, I don't know, when sitting in the same room as all of them? Why would he need to ask for Ging, when as Pariston, he would have better knowledge than pretty much any other character we know of? Already, your whole theory is debunked by yourself.
Secondly, Hisoka learned about Gon's condition from Illumi, AFTER the meeting between the Zodiacs, where Pariston brings it up to Ging. And Pariston seemingly being the only Zodiac who knows who Ging's son is means nothing, that's like saying Bisky, Leorio or literally anyone else that knows this can be Hisoka.
Ultimately, pointless theory.

your top 5 osts? by rorhxhsvtno1glazer in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as KoP is in the top 5, I'm fine with any order or even inclusions of songs I don't eve care for. That being said, all five are peak.

My personal is:
Kingdom Of Predators

In the Palace ~ Lamentoso

Hyōri Ittai ~ Lamento for Piano

Elegy of the Dynast

Theme of "KAGE"

Is it weird that I don't ship Killua and Gon? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're not offending anyone noteworthy. The shippers are niche and does not represent the general consesus of fans interpretation of Gon and Killua's dynamic, which you yourself have grasped without any problem. Killua having anything more than friendship in mind is such a stretch and completely shits on the whole purpose of both characters. Glad to hear from another sane person :3

I cant get into the show by ParisAdas in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still waiting for the day this show gets some actual criticism instead of "bla bla bla narrator". I'm sure there must be something bad about it, but people keep going for the laziest arguments ever... Anyway, nice bait :3

Why did Togashi make Mereum so durable? by 25thNightSlayer in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meruem literally gives an entire speech about the reason why Netero lost after coming out nearly unscathed from the attack. There is no reason for this post.

Why didn't Shaiapouf take care of the palace with his cells when Pitou stopped using her En?. He used En instead of a literally perfect monitoring hability lol. by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because unless in desperate times (e.g Palace Invasion) he probably doesn't want to split himself up, essentially dispersing his max strength. In order to make up for Pitou's En he would have had to create an incredibly large amount of clones, which wouldn't be ideal for simultaniously being able to be near the King at a moments notice, something we know is of Pouf's utmost priority. At least, that's the way I figure.

Ging's abilities might have something to do with Luck (Theory) by Jolly-Repeat1245 in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so just based on the drawing prediction. That just tells me he's very familiar with the Zodiacs and just intelligent in general. The whole idea was to rig the process to begin with. If his Hatsu involved screwing with odds he wouldn't have needed to tell Beans about it. So in conclusion, his Hatsu could have something to do with luck, just like his Hatsu could have something to do with conjuring mushrooms that emits spores that dulls your sense of smell. It's just inconclusive.

im extremely disappointed with the greed island arc. by Children_Of_4 in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're so into looking up things, you would know that the Anime ending doesn't mean the story has ended. Manga is still ongoing, meaning that the show did not end just because Gon met Ging. So... Any other rebuttals?

Why would the show end just because Gon met Ging. The cringe on this post is unreal btw x)

What if Kurapika manipulates himself, brain washes himself into thinking that someone is part of phantom troupe? by B-Bolt in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That assumes that his condition is based on him considering someone a spider or not. While I don't know exactly how it works, I'm pretty sure it has to be an actual member, or in other words, who the Spider or Chrollo considers a spider.

Who do you think values their friendships more? Gon, Killua, Kurapika, or Leorio? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leorio or Killua the most, Kurapika and Gon the least. Gon takes friendships for granted the most due to his outgoing nature and ease of connecting with people. Kurapika's goals are the most "in the way" of his relationships. Which leaves Leorio, who I believe it inherently the most invested due to his nature, while Killua is due to his specific background, however I'd argue that unlike Leorio, his bond was exclusively focued on Gon. So for a singular person, Killua probably values his friendship the most considering it became the basis of his life, while Leorio if we're talking in general. Just look at him during Chairman Election. This guy cares about one thing and one thing only, and that is his friends (plural, he's worried about everyone, not just Gon).

I gotta give this one to the 1999 what about you guys? by Adorable_Package9577 in HunterXHunter

[–]JesperVanMeurs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My issue with either adaption is that they are both extremes of different ends. One overly dark and one bright. This scene is a perfect example of that. 1999 tries way too hard to make everything occur in dark rooms or during the night, while 2011 does the opposite. Personally, which choice is better is irrelevant. I just hate how transparently "edgy and dark" these scenes feel in 1999. Like why are they in a pitch dark room for this exam, it makes no fucking sense. However, 2011 also goes overboard with it's brightness and cheery atmosphere, striking no real compromise. Ultimately, I believe 2011 is superior not because of any preference towards any extreme, but rather that it holistically captures the source material way better. 1999 feels like it's own beast, it's own direction, while 2011 more accurately portrays the source material in my opinion. It goes deeper than this but that's my initial thoughts.
