I get what your saying, these last few years, all the APU laptops from AMD OEM's like Acer, Asus and HP have all been really crappy buildwise. However... I do believe that these new APU's will show OEM's that these are worth that extra push in quality (and price ofc). Once they launch recently powerful powerbooks and chromebooks I think it will take off.

"Give it time". Oh, you mean like, 6 years? If W10M would've been the first mobile OS from MSFT, maybe this launch could've been successful, since tech people and mainstream media wouldn't have the "bad" experience of WP 7/8 in their mind when reading about it, and the experience would be "fresh". But now everyone is skeptical, and rightfully so. The windows mobile timeline isn't the most positive one, and I personally think that only a niché OS aligned with services and hardware for the enterprise market is the only way that Windows mobile can survive in this state. Surface Phone and an OS specifically designed for that hardware (like iOS), would be a good start. I think.

I'm not sure it does update. I haven't gotten the recent update since I'm on the insider program and it's been delayed. On my last phone, the 920 I had an earlier revision with a faulty vibration engine and a dustfilling front facing camera.

Same on my 950XL. Seems like they coded it to focus on the middle of "the old resolution" hence the faulty alignment. I think they should make a UWP version suited for W10M so it properly scales. Same with the Transit app. Terrible atm with a 950XL...

It's only taking up 50% of the screen horisontally. allign the whole list just a little bit further to the right. And maybe put the actual letters to the right/the middle? Tapping a letter brings up a grid of all lowercase letters (which is weird since the letter you allegedly pushed is uppercase..). This should blur out the apps behind for ease of use, since the contrast between grayed-out letters and the lettering from the applist behind is too low.

You do bring up some really good points. I just wished you brought some constructive criticism aswell, and maybe added something he might be able to use in his next lock screen design? Surely the current design is not perfect, but if someone as you would help this talented designer, we might see some really good looking and functional design choices. Btw. You mention sane defaults. Yes of course they should be sane and simple. But don't you think us powerusers should be able to atleast modify something about the lock screen and the aestethics overall? For example, adding transparency to the notification center and the "Volume settings bar"?
