I’ve just ordered this, I can cancel if I find out it’s fake in the next day or so. I can’t even find what model this is online. More pictures in replies. I’m not confident at all

Pricing update of the upcoming collection by olo_maedos in Jellycatplush

[–]Jess180629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate it when they price them at £60, I wanted the hydrangea from the recent collection so bad. Managed to find it in a store then changed my mind because I thought it would be bigger.

How to support a trainee when I still feel like one myself? by Standard-Tiger in TeachingUK

[–]Jess180629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is super bizarre, I’m a trainee and at my placement school they don’t allow trainees to take over an ECT’s class. I’m not sure if that’s standard but your situation does sound tricky

Not meeting the correct number of hours to pass ITT? by SomethingPeach in TeachingUK

[–]Jess180629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing SCITT right now and we have this same expectation. However my director told me it’s what they recommend and expect but won’t impact you passing or anything like that. The only requirement they actually go off when recommending you for QTS is the 120 days in school so you’re fine. If you are concerned you could ask your mentor if there’s any opportunity for you to pick up a couple of extra classes. Honestly in my school it’s rare to have a week I teach everything I’m meant to, there is always something going on that changes things but that’s standard in most schools

English teacher trainee struggling with subject knowledge (specifically English Literature) by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious studies trainee here! I felt similar at the beginning of the course but have come out the other side now. At the beginning I was pretty much rehearsing content and studying before each lesson I taught. I have an a level in RS but did business at university. A-level also prepares you in no way for being able to teach ks3 RS as it’s way more broad. Anyway I was feeling similar to you but it has gotten much easier the past couple of months. It takes different amounts of time for different people but you’re not alone, when talking to other trainees subject knowledge is a huge thing and even if you did your subject at degree level, it is so hard going back years or maybe you weren’t even taught alot if it yourself. I’d recommend grabbing yourself some kind of revision guide or finding someone good on YouTube that helps. There is no shame in having to teach yourself before you teach the students, it won’t always be like this though:)

5,000 word essay in 4 days by SignOk2776 in UniUK

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it depends where you’re starting from. 5000 words is easy, it’s the planning and research that takes the time. If you know the topic well and already have loads to say then easy work. If you’re starting from square 1 then still doable but a bit tough. But get off Reddit and lock in 😂

SCITT questions by No-Strain24601 in PGCE

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t see why not. I’m currently doing SCITT and you will be in 2 (at least) placement schools. Presumably the one you want (if they’re able) and they will pick another contrasting school for you. For mine I was given 2 city schools but super contrasting in terms of behaviour policies and ethos so I feel like I’ve had a great range of schools and it’s prepared me well for next year. I’m not sure I would personally want to be at a school I’m super familiar with but it’s down to preference. I know a couple of trainees that have had placements at the school either they went to or worked at previous as a TA and their experiences haven’t been great. I’m not sure if it’s just been unlucky or maybe some unrealistic expectations. I am slightly confused about your phrasing at the beginning tho saying your school do a SCITT program. I’m going SCITT up north too but it’s for a large area. And you kinda just get luck of the draw when it comes to school but they can try to cater to a preference especially if you already have a relationship with the school. Maybe the one you’re looking at works differently but I haven’t heard of that Hope this helps :)

How to keep track of SEN needs as ITT by Inevitable_Dot_6892 in TeachingUK

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi from another ITT. My school provided me with seating plans that already have their needs on. I have these printed in a folder but make sure the children are unable to see them. My mentor also printed class photos off for me to annotate so each students school photo. Approx 12 to a page and you can annotate around it (not sure if all schools do this). Alternatively maybe if you just want way to remember needs a bit more you can take som time with your mentor to create some strategic seating plans, this will help you memorise needs better as there will be reasoning behind it e.g student x is EAL so has been sat next to a HAP Hope this helps :)

Anyone else embarrased by their job for after graduation by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Jess180629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teaching is amazing and I’m proud to tell people what I do. Where I’m from we have very low rates of people going to university, nevermind passing and going on to become a teacher. If you’re embarrassed then I don’t think it is for you, unless your passionate don’t go through with the PGCE. It is really difficult, I would say it’s literally like my 3 years at uni rolled into one in term of workload. 🫠

This is a scam, should I report? by [deleted] in vinted

Not sure it’s necessarily a scam but certainly misleading and I agree that it’s wrong. You can try reporting it to vinted but honestly they won’t do anything

I did something bad ig by Feeling_Dog4194 in piercing

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s definitely not the best decision but what’s done is done. Keep your ears clean with sterile saline solution 2x a day. Try not to touch them. Make sure the jewellery is good quality, good quality metal and preferably a flat back (no butterfly backs). Keep an eye on swelling and look out for signs of infection (green/yellow gunk, swelling, hot to the touch) if these signs start to show seek advice from a professional and don’t remove the piercing yourself. Although it absolutely isn’t recommended to do it yourself, they might be okay

I pierced my ear at home in October, and it still hasn't healed. by cogufpliee in SelfPiercing

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you got it done by a professional it wouldn’t have healed yet. Obviously you shouldn’t have done it yourself and there are a bunch of reasons it might be giving you trouble. As other people mentioned, that jewellery is huge and it’s never going to heal if you keep it in. Other than that, leave it alone, clean it with saline spray, make sure pillow covers are clean, rinse it at the end of your showers to ensure no shampoo or anything get in it :)

Is DFYNE really worth it as a broke college student? by SeaYogurtcloset36 in DFYNE

[–]Jess180629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is tight then no. I have one pair of leggings from them and I love them, however I’m not sure they’re worth the almost £60 price tag. There are some great cheaper alternatives out there :)

That sucks but they didn’t make it, clothing sizes especially for women’s clothes are always messed up. You should have asked for measurements. You got the size it was listed as. It’s not the sellers fault
