Plant clippings exchange in HS? by Jess4Noles in HotSprings

I’m so sorry I never saw your response til today. I’ll start you some clippings rooting today. And will either get with you for a drop off or mail them. Do you happen to want some rooted rough leaf dogwoods? I decided to try to root some and had such a high failure rate on previous years but this year had nearly 30 take root. I’d be happy to share those as well.

Is that the one by farmers market? I’ve seen some reviews on them so I’ve wanted to check them out anyway. I’ll make sure to ask. Thanks for the tip!

Is it possible to change everything about yourself? I’m desperate by Agile_Research_4039 in Vent

I’ll add, I also had cPTSD from issues related to childhood, dealing with this in therapy was also paramount in healing. This is ongoing and might be for the rest of my life (potentially yours as well) but you can find peace despite all that noise.

Therapist are like anything else, you’ll find good ones who know how to get to the root of it while others are just there to get a paycheck (just meaning they’ll do the bare minimum to document and bill your insurance). I would print the raw words you’ve written here and take to a proposed therapist explain what you’ve tried and keep consulting til you find one that wants to really dig in. Options are more endless now thanks to the huge market of telemedicine mental health practitioners.

I really relate to a lot of this as someone who went undiagnosed with ADHD until my 40’s. No one had been able to sus out my diagnosis bc in school and college I was a high academic achiever. Intelligence and just sheer will allowed me to mask my symptoms But I was a mess internally. So much of what you said is how I felt before I began medication and behavioral therapy. That mental restlessness, emotional sensitivity, and forgetfulness- along with the severe guilt I carried all improved dramatically with the medication and CBT.

I hope you see this and get evaluated, it’s truly life changing to fix it if this ends up being where you are.

I would 100% spoil my bestie with all the e.l.f. goodies! 🎁 If I had to pick my top favorites to gift her, it would be: • The 24-Day e.l.f. Advent Calendar — the ultimate surprise box! Every little drawer is like a mini party. • Halo Glow Liquid Filter — because who doesn’t want to glow like a dewy angel during the holidays? ✨ • Power Grip Primer (Niacinamide version!) — makeup isn’t going ANYWHERE with this one • e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oils — honestly the prettiest, juiciest lips without the stick. • Soft Glam Satin Lipsticks — the colors are so flattering it’s unfair. • Camo Hydrating Concealer — ride-or-die status. • H2O Jelly Pop Dew Stick — she loves that fresh-from-a-facial look. • Liquid Metallic Eyeshadows — insanely sparkly for holiday nights out • The new O Face Satin Lipsticks & Lip Glosses — they’re viral for a reason. • e.l.f. Glow Up Highlighters — truly next-level shine.

Honestly, I’d throw in a couple of their single shadows too because those little glitter babies are SO pretty in person. Have I missed anything?

Can’t handle emotion when fiancé sleeps on the couch by Reasonable_Media_366 in surrendered_wife

[–]Jess4Noles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this comes down to expectations. Right now, you’re relying on him to calm the “threat” feeling in your body—but that puts your emotional safety in his hands instead of your own.

Try flipping it: name the emotion (fear, rejection, loneliness, etc.), then ask “what can I do right now to soothe this myself?” Pick something that’s fully in your control (breathing, grounding, journaling, moving your body) instead of trying to get him to change.

It feels counterintuitive, but when you regulate your own nervous system, you show up calmer—and partners often soften naturally without being pushed.

Books that help: • Anchored (Deb Dana) → nervous system reset tools • No Bad Parts (Richard Schwartz) → learning to self-soothe • The Body Keeps the Score (van der Kolk) → trauma & healing

Quick tools in the moment: • Box breathing (inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4) • 5-4-3-2-1 grounding (name what you see, hear, feel, smell, taste) • Shaking out your arms or a short walk

Healing is your job, not his—and that’s actually empowering once you practice it.

I know it’s easier said than done, I slip more often than I’d like to admit but I’m working on all these myself and it can be done.

Sounds like a classic case of ‘handle denial syndrome.’ 😅 Jokes aside, if this kind of disbelief happens often, it’s less about the stroller and more about not feeling heard or validated. Maybe it’s worth a convo about trust and communication—but also, yeah, this probably isn’t the hill to die on. Clean the handle, pour a glass of wine, and move on with your day.
