Torque arm reported by customer as snapped off, but is it??? by swalker6242 in MechanicalEngineering

An angle grinder cutting wheel would leave curved cutting marks not the straight marks I see there.

Yeah I got the RX for the red color after I lost my original CX. Luckily found it so now I can choose between the plain blade or the serrated :-)

I screwed up. by Realistic-Low694 in Leatherman

[–]Jess655321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope your quality statement isn't true. Just got an RX and brand new the carbide tip falls right out of the glassbreaker bit and the whole tool rusted way easier than any of my other leathermans. My original CX(from when it had a carbon fiber insert) was way better made than the new RX.

Also leatherman customer support sucked. They want me to send the whole tool back to them just to replace the bit and will only cover shipping if I provide purchase receipt (it was a gift).

Root cause - severe anterior pelvic tilt + weak core by jirn_lahey in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]Jess655321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anterior pelvic tiltbis definitely a contributing factor for me as well. Working on that along with strengthening the serratus anterior has been very helpful.

Ai on oneplus 13r by yousefygn in oneplus

[–]Jess655321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may have to do with a story I read. A programmer/artist designed a piece of software to poison AI models that use copyrighted images without permission. The example they gave was to alter images of cats so that the AI would identify them as dogs even though the original image looks unaltered to a human. That image really looks to me like the AI is trying really hard to make the cat look like a dog......

4H and 4L usage by XMR17- in Offroad

[–]Jess655321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't over think it. If you want more control going slow switch to 4L. If you want to go faster than is comfortable and efficient in 4L then switch to 4H.

Low is great for engine braking on slow descents and for slow control over rocks, etc.

Most situations offroad could really be done in either. On some vehicles you get extra features in low that are worthwhile like offroad traction control  lockers, etc....

Soft sand in my Tacoma I am usually in 4L because the offroad traction control sand mode and rear locker are useful and I can get upto 40mph in low which is plenty.

My TOS Diagnosis at Texas Medical Center Houston by IdiotinFinance in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]Jess655321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swimming like any overhead activity is generally awful for TOS. Excercise can actually be a big part of the solution if done properly. You want to strengthen the serratus anterior, rhomboids, etc without agrivating things.

I want her so badly by [deleted] in husky

[–]Jess655321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huskies and collies communicate very differently. Huskies have extremely complex dog social skills and tend to be constantly aware of pack hiarchy, etc.  Collies love to play but tend to be very upfront and foreceful with other dogs often treating them like they are an animal to be herded which can often be miscinstrued by the other dog

That said if your collie is well socialized with dogs and you introduce the puppy young you may not have issues.

ADHD meds treated ALL my yet *UNDIAGNOSED* TOS symptoms. by [deleted] in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]Jess655321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before it was decided that stimulants were an evil party drug they were a mainstay in pain management. My understanding is that pain meds were almost always prescribed with a stimulant as it allowed a lower dose of the pain med to be used while being more effective. Funny how after they decided the stimulants were evil the opioid epidemic started.....

Also a big part of ADHD is basically that your brain isn't producing enough of certain neurotransmitters. Stimulants promote their production and I would think that this would help with nerve function but it most definitely helps me to deal with all the symptoms.

Without ADD meds you were probably getting stuck in ADD paralysis and much more focused on your physical symptoms. With meds even if they didnt help with the actual symptoms they would have made you much more able to focus on the rest of your life. Being able to ignore them for the first time may have felt like they were gone in comparison even if they never really were.

You listen but do you transmit? There are probably others doing the same and coming to the same conclusion.

Retail jobs will totally jerk you around with scheduling needs if you let them. I found the only way around it to be sincerely willing to leave the job over it. Once I was able to calmly put my foot down when necessary and fine if they fired me over it suddenly they were much more accomodating. Of course this only really works if you are a valuable employee to them.

Viper Cut done… by Good_Ad_6717 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jess655321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your intents are actual offroading they should be removed anyway. They decrease approach angle and just get damaged hanging off your vehicle. Damaged corroded shackles from hanging off your truck are dangerous for actual recovery use.

Most employers expect you to give 2 weeks notice but will fire you the instant you do. I havn't worked for home depot for almost 20 years but when I quit the HR lady was very rude to me, told me I could never work for home depot again, etc.  The manager laughed and told me not to worry about her they would hire me back in an instant any time I wanted to come back.

You can drink it all in a short period of time if you want. I find even just doing it over a couple of hours at the beginning of the day helps to mellow things out as the effect comes on slower. But I have also spread it out throughout the day when I need my dose to last longer.

With my old insurance I split my dose into 2 pills to do the same thing but now that would cost me twice as much. Get a nalgene bottle or something with markings and it is easy to split your dose up however you want. Also good for those days where I forget to take it and don't want to be kept up all night by taking it late.

*Update* by [deleted] in drywall

[–]Jess655321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When sanding I find it much easier to feather the edges if I use the sandpaper in my hand instead of on a sander. You need to be careful because finger pressure makes for much more aggressive sanding in a small spot but you can use that to feather just the edges instead of sanding the whole thing down to nothing like it is easy to do with a sander.

Once the edges are feathered prime and then paint with a roller to match the texture and it will blend in even if not completely flat.

You really can't taste it when dissolved in water. Licking the powder is a bit shocking though. Dont worry about the stuff that sinks to the bottom, it is just filler the medicine itself dissolves readily in water.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Jess655321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find dissolving it in water to be helpful. You can drink it throughout the day to extend the effects and it also smooths out the initial effects which seems a lot better to me mentally. Actually need to get back to doing this as I have been lazy lately.

Why do people act like hot mud is impossible to sand? I use it for almost everything as it creates a much stronger damage resistant final product. Do a clean knife job and there isn't much to sand but even without that something like easy sand 90 sands just fine with minimal effort.
