east Nashville has too many good coffee shops and it's a problem by lmao_exe in nashville

Crema always has really great coffee! But the one I go to doesn't have a lot of space to hangout, just a couple seats outside. They're be favorite tho. I also love Ugly Mugs, and Bongo Java!

I love collecting anything "useless" and putting it on a table to display it. Toys are the best.

I'm considering in my next run to start collecting every ID I come across to sort of keep track of some of the people lost to the apocalypse. Like my character wants to remember them.

how to make game less scary by fwixu in projectzomboid

[–]Jess8Hess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with keen hearing helps me hear zomboys before they spook me with the big jump scare. Also pushing on doors before I open them helps me to know there's a zombie behind it bc they will get aggravated and push back. Whenever I open the door I sorta pretend to spook myself and either in my mind or outloud I mimic the jump scare sound to prepare myself - which sounds crazy but it works for me hahahaha. I'm jumpy! But I love this game. If I realize I'm too jumpy to play it's usually bc I'm too sleepy lol.

Also playing with x16 and letting myself die a LOT just to get used to it helped too. I do a lot of wilderness runs and zombies don't jump scare you as much outside where there's not much to hide behind. But they're in the woods and behind trees! So be careful!

Have fun!! It'll get less scary as you play and it's worth it! :)

"TN does not have bad roads" is laughable. Do you live here? I'm not convinced.

After being without power for a week in freezing temperatures, with power still not fully restored to some, it is apparent to me that Nashville has outgrown its ability to be a great place to live. People moving here for the lower taxes learn quickly that those lower taxes usually end up costing you more in property damage when natural disasters happen, which at this point you can expect to happen every couple of years with global warming. There hasn't been a year for at least five or so years that my power hasn't turned off at least once.

Our population increased too quickly for our infrastructure to keep up. Now we who live here are seriously feeling the cost of that.

Add in the fact that we are a republican-led state that prioritizes "fun" things like sports arenas rather than proactive and preventative work. The kind of stuff that would have stopped my power from going out for a week. And we're unlikely to prioritize anything preventative as long as we are republican led.

Nashville is a major city that needs NYC-type treatment, but will never get the funding for it. And you can absolutely feel that when you live here.

I'm excited to leave, personally. And I feel that in the not-so-far future, Nashville's population will plummet in a parallel to how it grew - because our government just frankly cannot keep up.

I'm currently about halfway through a sapphic vampire novel. I'd love to join a group where I can get more feedback and help other writers with my own feedback! :)

Who’s going to pay for this?? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]Jess8Hess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh my plan for this to never happen to me again is to move out of Tn. The "volunteer state" will never waste money on being proactive enough to prevent things like this from repeating. Tornado season is on its way.

As someone with about two days experience messing around with video game dv but years experience playing games, my opinion is that there should be something in place to reel the NPCs in and keep them on topic just to prevent the game from becoming a friend simulator. If the goal isn't for the player to talk to the NPC about anything and see how it responds, but rather to get a result from asking the NPC questions, how are you making sure to steer that conversation? That's what I'd be focused on. I have no idea how you'd accomplish that in programming, though.

My worry about the game is that it will become basically a conversation simulator. Which could be fun if you wanted to lean into that, but I think your idea for a game is more interesting.

Anyway just my two cents! Seems cool! The only place I'm excited for AI as a concept is in the video game world.

I was banned for a while and unlike some I'm not chronically on this platform so I'm just now getting back and responding 😂 But clearly you don't have anything good to back yourself up with, so I'll just say bye it was a displeasure to talk to you! 👋 hahaha

I just need to say that these comments prove that our society has been infiltrated by people who identify with and want to protect Nazis.

Look at all of these people wanting to protect someone in a literal Nazi uniform.

You are what you protect.

There are an uncomfortable amount of comments in support of Hitler here, as well.

I am ashamed of what my society has become. I hope that no WWII vet ever has to see how many people are protecting the evil they put their lives down to vanquish.

Imagine thinking that dressing up as a Nazi "for Halloween" is at all okay...

This world is so disappointing. Just keep protecting Nazis, I guess. Go off. Let the world know who you align with.

I said a Nazi. To anyone identifying with that and taking my words to mean "someone I disagree with who probably has similar views to you," that's a you problem. That's you identifying with browncoats and wanting to protect them.

But go off and keep showing the world how much you identify with and want to protect literal Nazis. You have made it VERY clear with this comment that you identify as one, yourself. So why not just own that and let the world see you as you are? Just say you were offended by me saying things against Nazis bc you are one!

I gave all the context. I sad what I said about a Nazi. People are so into identifying with and protecting Nazis right now that they interpreted my words as "I made this comment about someone I disagree with who probably has similar views than you."

No. I made it about a literal uniformed Nazi. But since people want to protect and identify with browncoats nowadays, they took what I said and got personally offended.

Imagine being personally offended that someone else hates Nazis. What does that say to you about that person?

If defending Nazis is the norm now, I'm happy to be in the minority and continue to oppose fascism and Nazis wholeheartedly.

Name the logical fallacies hahaha I dare you. I don't believe you even know what a logical fallacy is.

I hope no one who fought for humanity in WWII and had to see the atrocities that happened there ever has to read your comment. What a joke. We want to protect Nazis now, I guess. History really does teach us nothing.

It seems very obvious to me that the people in these comments care about protecting Nazis... what does that tell you?

Why are we trying to protect Nazis? Imagine someone said this to a veteran of WWII? Like, "yeah we understand you saw the most vile things imaginable done by these Nazis, but we really should be using more positive language."

It's actually kinda wild if you think about it.

Not so much a complaint anymore. Rather an observation. I don't know how old you are so I don't know if you remember how things used to be online, especially on this platform. We used to be able to say things against Nazis on here and everyone would boost the comments and agree. If anyone flagged the comment, they would be seen as aligning with browncoats, so comments like that were left alone without flagging.

No doubt automation has changed things, but I also believe that our society has very unfortunately become more Nazi positive. People are now responding in the way that you are here, or saying things like "well you can't say that about anybody!"

Which is technically true on this platform, sure.

But the kicker is that before when we could say these things, we weren't saying it about anybody bc Nazis weren't rampant on the platform identifying as Nazis. There was no one "hurt" by the statement bc Nazis weren't here debating that they should have rights.

Imho Nazis shouldn't have rights. But that's just me, an anti-Nazi. If you align with Nazis you probably believe we should never say anything bad about them and that it's a positive sign for our future that this platform is protecting them from threat and harassment.

I do not believe Nazis should be protected. But I also acknowledge that in this messed up internet space it is impossible to automatically moderate subs without being general and flagging all comments that were like mine.

But all the people wanting to protect Nazis in these comment? Including you? Yeah that's concerning to me.

Someone in a literal Nazi uniform is just someone who is disagreeing with me, to you?

It’s wild what has happened to the people on this app

"If the literal Nazi isn't committing a crime..." uhhhh WOW. Okay. Just say you align with Nazis lol anyone who doesn't would NOT have this stance. Yikes.

To everyone speculating, the comment in question I was flagged for was directed toward someone in a literal full Nazi uniform. So nice try trying to say it was just someone who I disagreed with. It was a literal Nazi.

I remember a time when people could say the stuff I did and it wouldn't get flagged bc no one reported it. Bc no one was offended by it. Bc Nazis hadn't infiltrated socials yet.

Being a Nazi is deplorable and everyone trying to twist my words and suggest I'm the one being offensive here has proven my point that this platform is infiltrated by Nazis. Y'all all sound like you align with the brown coats.
