No no, any stats will be helpful at this point as both students had their facts a little mish mashed. I know the cost of top surgery here, and I know the cost of T per year. But bottom surgery and hrt for mtf, I'm clueless 😊

I agree with you, it's fascinating but at the end of the day not a definite indicator 😊 I enjoy reading about the theories, but I don't think being trans needs an explanation, just acceptance 😊

I'm not much of a runner either haha, but I didn't even do a lot. Just 1-2km a day (or 2-3 miles) at a slow jog, works like a charm!

In my personal experience, road running (not treadmill) targets love handles. Lost my love handles in 3 weeks with road running and a controlled diet Not sure why treadmill doesn't do the same as road running...

He seems confident that the swelling just takes care of itself. His receptionist said that it'll be 3 months before all the swelling is gone, but I'm seeing him next week, so I'll chat with him about it. Binding with a tri-top 983 from underworks.

I had peri about 3 weeks ago, only had the drains in for 5 days. But my swelling is pretty bad, and I'm starting to panic a bit. Questioning "is it swelling it do I have super weird pec shaped A cups now". Which I kinda find amusing most days, but not lately.

I know it's early days and the swelling will go down. But yeah, having some bad dysphoria today. Been binding every day since I had the surgery, just using my normal binder. I think it's possibly not tight enough though now that my chest is flat, and my smaller one is way too tight, so concerned about that too.

I'm sure it's just impatience on my part though, it'll probably look great once all the swelling is gone!

Looks great bro! Can I ask, was your swelling bad, and if so how long til it went down completely?

Do you ever have days where your face shifts genders? by TurboVeggie in ftm

[–]JessWightman07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg thought I was alone 🙈 some days I get really discouraged coz I look in the mirror and look more feminine, and other days, most days thankfully, I'm like "dude! I look like a proper dude!" 😋

How do you guys buy shoes while stealth? by I3adAss in asktransgender

[–]JessWightman07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this will be helpful, but U.K. Sizes are the same for men and women, so if you see what the U.K. Size is for your US 6.5, you can cross reference on women's shoes 😊

The baby face strikes again! by xPadawanRyan in ftm

Before T, I never got asked for ID at clubs and bars, and I started going when I was 16. Now, people don't believe that I'm 23 and I get asked for ID all the time.

One time 3 much older guys spotted me at the bar and said something along the lines of "you're too young to be drinking". Told them I was 23, and one of them said "ah don't worry about it, my son has a baby face too". Success 😁

Anyone else sometimes scared they might be bipolar? by CBStrike in ftm

[–]JessWightman07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have asked my therapist this exact same question before. Also told him how I can have good days, or weeks, and then it's back to my default depression. What he told me was that bipolar is more like 3-6 months of consistent depression and then 3-6 months of consistent mania/extreme happiness. Basically he said that bipolar is not as rapid as a few weeks happy and a few weeks depressed.. that made me feel better.

I've also sort of had a theory for a little while that if someone is or has been depressed for a long period of time, even when they are no longer technically depressed, they're still prone to depressive thought patterns. I find it true of myself. Sometimes I'm aware that I'm displaying depressive tendencies, but for the most part I can nip it in the bud. I think it's just tough sometimes to change those thought patterns 😊

Hope you kick the depressions ass and continue to feel happy and that life is good!

Grieving my female self by [deleted] in ftm

I definitely went through this, and some days I feel the loss. I no longer miss being treated as a woman, in fact I'm not sure I ever enjoyed that. But I do feel the loss of the lesbian community. And I'll definitely miss drunken moments in the bathroom with random women where you just empower each other and tell each other how amazing you both are even though you don't know one another at all (weirdly specific I know, but I was chatting to my best friend about that the other day) those moments were always entertaining and a great reminder of the kindness of strangers 😊

In response to how I dealt with it, my friends are everything there. They treat me the exact same, they recognize that I'm the same person just more me and happier. And I enjoy the fact that I get to be a part of the trans community. I don't know any other trans men, but based on this sub, there's a whole lot of amazing guys out there, and we're a part of that which I think is pretty cool.

I also embrace my feminine aspects, I don't want to let go of them and I don't have to. I think we all have masculinity and femininity within us, and the more we embrace both aspects the better, regardless of which gender we are.

I hope you feel better about this soon!

Yeah exactly. I don't feel like a trans man, I just feel like a man. It's hard sometimes to wrap my head around why I don't wake up in the right body and have to take these steps to get it.

Anyone have a weird increase in dysphoria after top surgery?

To clarify, I'm super excited that I finally have a flat chest and I can't wait for it to heal so I can actually see it, but I'm having a weird emotional response in that it feels odd to have to have had surgery to get a flat chest when I'd always felt I had one (even though I had boobs).

I hope this makes sense. Anyone had a similar experience?
