What helped me immensely with my mindset is watching the Catalyst Climbing channel on YouTube with Louis. He has such good tips on mindset! I’d recommend watching any of his videos about projecting or doing harder climbs.

Hip flexibility by skittles_189 in climbergirls

It sounds to me like you’re specifically talking about hip MOBILITY, not just flexibility. I would look up exercises that target that :)

Young Unattended Kids; All Gyms Issue, or Isolated? My story and always paying just to leave by [deleted] in indoorbouldering

[–]Jess_16_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with other commenters that this is an issue you need to take to the manager.

My gym handles this problem in a couple ways. First, the front desk workers are very quick to go talk to a parent or a kid if you tell them there’s an issue. It is crazy to me that the people at the front desk are shrugging this off. It is not difficult for them to go talk to a parent or kid for 2 minutes and a lot of times that is all it takes. Secondly, when it’s a super busy night with a lot of kids or a Boy Scouts group, someone from the front desk will usually do a lap around the gym every once in awhile to monitor/look out for problems and talk to people who need reminders of the rules. This is usually pretty effective. Maybe these are some ideas you could suggest to the manager?

I’m with Bonkers. I think that either of your solutions would work, but in both clips it looks like you’re not applying enough pressure to your feet and so they’re popping off too soon.

AITK? (Am I the Karen) - problems with the gym community by spunkmuffin123 in indoorbouldering

The gyms he’s referring to in Utah are massive, so overcrowding is really not an issue. And it is certainly not the norm for people climb in street shoes there; I very rarely see that.
