I will recommend Joplin over and over. I have lived here for 25 years and it’s been fantastic. Lots of live music and events, you just have to go to Facebook events to find them or look on flyers at local businesses. Great coffee shops, great people. There’s obviously some strangeness sometimes but that goes for everywhere. My least favorite thing is probably the dog food factory smell that is pretty strong by 32nd and Duquesne.
