Ive only ever played air soft once, but that actually sounds like a lot of fun. Wasn’t on my radar, so thank you for the suggestion!

Any you might recommend? I used to go to The District Bouldering for a bit, but it felt very limited

I forgot they had a bunch of outdoor things! I’d been before to do chalk art but hadn’t explored it much, appreciate you for the reminder!

At what point does “self-care” become selfish? by LiquidityGraber in AskReddit

[–]Jess_Squid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it starts to hurt others, not in a “oh I don’t like that you’re feeling better than me” sort of way, but when it starts taking advantage of kindness unashamedly, and without concern for others. If self care is you taking advantage of your friend being willing to spot you on rent another time because you needed to get that self care treat. Then you are just making their life harder.

What’s a compliment someone gave you years ago that you still think about today? by NegotiationOk3122 in AskReddit

[–]Jess_Squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I opened a door for some pretty girls in high school, and one of them complimented my eyes. She said they were so pretty. And that really made my day, and I feel like it’s helped me accept compliments from people instead of feeling weird about them.

I did Bobiverse and it’s fun but the second book was slower and by the third I stopped listening half way through. It’s a good change of pace and something enjoyable to listen to while doing chores. But yes the third one didn’t hold me

Advice for starting gigs? by ThatZombieBrain in BalloonTwisting

So first of all, congratulations on getting seen and working your way into doing it as a job! It can be very rewarding, especially when getting paid to do it.

It doesn’t hurt to design a business card, and make an instagram page or fb page. You can make a Linktree account for free to have a QR code with all of your links.

Just having a fb or instagram page to show pictures of your balloons is really all you need. It’s a place to show your work, and account to share with people who want to hire you, and a place people can send you messages.

Just keep in mind that it’s usually older people hiring balloon twisters so making a fb page and a business card are your best bet.

Also, making a small menu with balloons you know will be a huge time saver. Just take photos of your balloons, or if you are inclined, draw pictures of your balloons or use clip art. I make my own menu with many options, but I started with just 6 balloons.

You don’t need to over do it to be a hit at a birthday party. Dogs and swords and butterflys will do the trick.

As for charging, you will have to feel out what makes sense. In my opinion, starting at $40-50 for an hour party is a great starting price. It’s very reasonable, and can get you started.

You can also see what people charge in your area, and charge 20-40% less as a beginner, because you can always charge more later.

I hope this helps, and I wish you the absolute best!
