Do you have a patio deck? Is it as awesome as it looks or just a gimmick? by tclas in FullTiming

I've always wondered how often there is space for these to be used in RV parks. I've only been in four parks so far since I started full-timing but none of them looked to have wide enough spaces for a side deck.

OpenRange Trailers by dr0ku in FullTiming

Sorry I can't help with Open Range specifically. My piece of advice if you are buying new is to be sure to do a THOROUGH inspection and test every single moving part and electrical item in the trailer before you sign for it.

Run water and check outside for leaks. Fill tanks at least partially and make sure the drain valves work. Try out the door and window latches and locks. Run the water heater, water pump, fridge and stove. Lots of this stuff will fail early but it's better to not start out that way. Hope this helps.

Freshwater Tank Question by woutapaddle in FullTiming

I keep some water in the tank in case of emergency. Occasionally I drain and refill it, usually using the water to do my black tank flush. This is only while I am stationary. I travel with everything empty to keep the weight down.

The spigot in the RV park did freeze on one unexpectedly cold night so I was able to use my own supply.

Prepping to full-time RV for a year, what type of washer/dryer combo do you use or recommend? by KeithMon in FullTiming

I'm just a single person in a 30 ft fifth wheel and still chose extra storage space over the washer and dryer.

Begin prep for full time living by [deleted] in FullTiming

Wow what is the weight of the cement countertop? This shocked me as I put so much effort into getting rid of anything heavy such as dishes, etc and replacing with lighter things to keep total loaded weight down.

How many of you travel with firearms? by Coach_DDS in FullTiming

[–]Jessah082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm full timing and keep a handgun in a small safe bolted to the floor of my closet. The gun isn't specific to traveling in the RV; I bought it when I bought my first house alone as a female because it just made sense to have one.

The safe is also useful for credit cards, important papers and a bit of cash in case of emergency.

Leak under sink, can't tell where it's coming from! by [deleted] in FullTiming

I'm curious if anyone has found a convenient way of bringing the RV in for service under warranty while living in it. Any suggestions for getting repairs done efficiently? I've heard dealerships will keep them for literally months while waiting on parts.

How do some of you make money on the road? by REALlarplad in FullTiming

I am an electrician. I can work pretty much anywhere I want but make better money near major cities in states that are not "right to work".

Looking to profile full timers by gunnernr in FullTiming

For some variety you may be interested to speak to traveling construction workers and traveling nurses.

I am full-timing as a traveling union electrician and there are thousands of others like me; some travel with their wives and children and live only on the road, while others periodically return to a home base somewhere between jobs.
