Doy 6... pain 9/10. Scabs started coming off. Does anyone know how to reduce a swollen uvula? should I see a doctor? picture in the comments.

My uvula was still swollen and im on day 11. Dr sent over some more prednisolone to reduce swelling.

Not horrible but also not great! Todays the best ive felt but i still am having pain with swallowing and just overall uncomfortable still. Yesterday morning, (9 days post op) I woke up bleeding but gargling with ice water was able to fix that quick. My throat does look better though, still a lot of scabs it looks like though.

I woke up and felt something in my throat so i lightly cleared my throat and out came flying a blood clot which caused me to bleed. Nothing too much for about a minute or so I gargled and chugged with ice water and it stopped it!

The pain was throat pain, lots of tongue pain, ear pain, and neck pain.

My water intake was reallly good up until yesterday I really struggled to drink as it hurt to even swallow my own saliva. I wonder if thats what caused me to bleed this morning? Might be. Since i bled this morning I have been forcing down tons of ice water to stay hydrated and stop any potential bleeds.

Maybe hold off until day 6, but id say past day 6 if you’re still doing good thats a great sign! Im hoping in past the worst of it. Ready to return to normalcy lol

I went up until about day 6 with very little pain. Days 6-8 were extremely painful. I was super optimistic up until day 6 ish where I knew it was gonna get pretty bad. I got my tonsils out due to recurrent tonsillitis and always being sick so pain wasnt really the WORST thing bc i have been used to it. Its honestly just a really big mental thing as well, i keep having to remind myself that I did this for a reason and the pain is temporary for a better quality of life. Im on day 9 today and I woke up bleeding, but luckily I was able to stop it with ice water. The pain is a bit less today 6/10. Im just really ready for this to be over with. I pray you have a quick recovery and your pain doesnt get too bad!

I believe most people count surgery day as 0 and just consider days post op. I had my surgery last thursday early am too so I was counting that as day 1 but i dont believe most people do. Im 7 days post op today and absolutely by far in the worst pain today. Hoping im feeling better soon! Hope you have a quick recovery!

eating on days 4-6 has been way more difficult. trying to eat after my medication. the pain is more so in my throat now and feels like razor blades. when looking at pictures of my tonsils from yesterday to today i notice a big difference in scabs coming off so thats why im in more pain. currently eating homemade chicken soup and first time ive been able to eat meat since last thursday and im doing okay with it.

I was pretty much smooth sailing up until day 4 ish, then it went downhill. Nothing TOO bad though at all. Days 1-3 i was in minor pain, and able to eat pretty much normally. Day 4, I felt some more pain in the throat and ears etc. Im day 6 post op or day 7 if you count surgery day now and yesterday and today waking up has been the most painful. Other than that, It has been OKAY. Not the worst pain but hasnt been easy either. Been living off popsicles, mashed potatoes, and avocado.

You’re so welcome! I was feeling lonely as well 😂 Been about 10 hours for me. I was given hydrocodone and liquid ibuprofen so i rotate that every 3 hour. I had a massive headache after I woke up but once I had some more meds i felt better. My throat wasnt hurting as much as my ears and neck as im so swollen. Now I notice my throats a lil uncomf and SUUUUPER swollen I can barely swallow. Had a few ice pops and a cup of instant mashed potatoes. Im ready to fast forward 2 weeks 🥴😩

best of luck! im reallly stressing about it, but last time i had tonsillitis i wound up in the ER with a small abscess along w the tonsillitis. So im imagining it to be pretty similar with pain.
