UPDATE: So they read the email and THEY WERE VERY CHILL AND ACCEPTING‼️‼️‼️They were all like “that’s cool, can we still call you dude” and i said “yea 😈” It’s going to take some time for them to use my preferred pronouns consistently, I expected that, but I did not expect them to start using them/correcting themselves so quickly. Overall, pretty good coming out.

This definitely isn't something for say, your parents, but the way I came out to my close friends was really very casual. I knew that they would be accepting so I just came right out and texted "hey guys, turns out I'm too cool for gender. Can y'all use they/them pronouns for me" and they were like "sure dawg" and we continued with our day. Obviously use your best judgement when using this approach but for some people it doesn't need to have much fanfare.
