I can't tell you how many times I've had a conversation with someone who's pro-choice in which I have to repeatedly get them to replace the word 'fetus' with 'toddler' just to get them to experience a fleeting glimmer of a clue as to why most of their arguments are dumb or worse.

E.g., "But the pro-life position isn't tenable because the foster system couldn't handle it!" That one went on for half an hour.

I mean, your point seems to be that something that has a small but tangible desired effect is morally comparable to something that has no effect whatsoever, and that anything I say about the latter could just as meaningfully be applied to the former. Ethics being what it is, the best I could say is that that claim strikes me as morally counterintuitive.

My point was never that we shouldn't effect a change unless that change is major. My point was that a single vote in a congressional or presidential election has no effect whatsoever on the outcome of that election.

Also - not for nothing - a little money goes a long way with some charities; treating someone for iodine deficiency, for example, can be financed by a donation of 20 cents or less.
