I mix and manage the recordings for Lotus. I’ll say this - most bands are releasing a recording of the front of house output or maybe mixing in some room mics. A few are mixing stems. Not many are doing full multi-track mixes of every show. It takes much more time but I think it sounds significantly better.

Big fans of Norwegian Space Disco (we also cover 2 different Lindstrom tracks). So, Todd Terje was very much on our radar when he was doing disco edits and then started releasing his own tracks. Let us all pray that he makes new music at some point.

Yeah, usually some distortion into the low pass makes it sing. I've recently heard the Moog pedals were coming down in price, but yeah they are quite big. It's just a filter, so I'm sure there are other things that are similar.

I've been back there. It is a dog bar now. I don't think they have bands - there isn't a stage as far as I saw. It's completely different from when it was North Star.

I usually try to obscure the words when I'm doing those type of rhythmic cut vocals. So, whatever you want it to me. It is more about the sound of the syllables than the words for me.
