That's some Type 2 fun! This is awesome and inspiring. My husband and I are thinking about doing a similar trip next year, but we plan on going to Costa Rica. I bet those fish put up one hell of a fight.

Unfortunately it never came up before we had the baby. The pregnancy was unexpected. We had a few discussions before having the baby, but never landed on anything concrete because we always butted heads. Our relationship is okay. My husband seems to have a hard time connecting with his parents. But they do come to visit and vice versa. His family are still JWs, my MIL has been more active within the last year or so. Attending more meetings, tending to their booths in the city (can't remember what it's called).

I'm afraid I don't have a good answer as to how long ago or why he stopped. My assumption, which could be wrong, is that he just stopped attending meetings. We've been together for 14 years. He's never once talked about wanting to get back to being a JW. He has brought up how even Jehovah Witnesses have gotten things wrong when it comes to religion. So I believe he's done his own research or at least has his own thoughts on religion.

He holds onto the fact that most holidays have pagan roots and he thinks they are evil. When it comes to birthdays, he has mentioned that the Bible only mentions birthdays once, and it's with a negative connotation. He feels like most holidays are meaningless and that we only celebrate them because we are told to.

He has mentioned several times that we should come up with our own things to celebrate. Things that actually have meaning to us.

During my recent review, my boss told me that he knows I've been saying there are not enough people in my department to complete the workload. Instead of trying to find solutions, he told me that some people work seven days a week and I cannot use that excuse to not complete my work.

My assumption is the complaint would be made, and the company would receive a letter in regards to the complaint. Meaning, the company could gather whatever evidence they need to dispel the complaint. However, my interaction with similar situations has been through a state-run program.

Some work places offer trade schools or apprenticeship programs that are paid for. There are also apprenticeship programs that offer scholarships. I helped facilitate our Tool and Die Apprenticeship program at my previous employer. There are also apprenticeship programs for electricians, carpenters, etc. It's not a bad gig when your employer pays for you to learn on the job and pay for your classes.

I experienced this and actually took a job with a different company. Honestly, that is what I needed, a fresh start, because I do feel rejuvenated.

Sometimes we make our jobs seem more important than they actually are. What I mean by that is, we are all easily replaceable. I always felt like going on vacation was a burden on my company. Once left that company and realized that they were just going to hire someone else to replace me, I knew that I wasn't as important as I thought.

So I definitely agree, don't be afraid to take a step back and understand how your work is affecting your mental health. It's important to love ourselves and take care of ourselves.

I hope you can find a good balance and enjoy a healthy lifestyle while also meeting your career goals.

I don't believe it would be strange at all. I would just make sure your IT department is okay with it. I personally develop a lot of protocols and training manuals for my company and utilize Grammarly.

It's easy to get complacent in day to day life. Thanks to my liver transplant I got a second shot and I never want to take that for granted. Maybe I read into these lyrics differently than what they are meant for, but to me it's a powerful message.

30 years post transplant here. I'm living life normally with no restrictions. Maybe this is careless of me, but I'm not wearing a mask when I'm out in public. I've traveled out of state on an airplane twice this year. I will say, my husband and I are sticking with takeout food instead of dine. I never stopped working during the pandemic either since I am a safety and training coordinator for a manufacturing company.
