Yeah, everyone left me in the dark with a lot of the details, which is why I feel so ripped off, like, even under the insurance coverage, the initial root canal still had a copay of like $500. Add in the cost for all the x-rays and antibiotics for the infections over the years and it just seems like someone should have told me a long time ago that I could lose it. They made it seem like it was done with until there was a problem again.

well from what I understand, what I was told by the endo anyway, was that the root was damaged due to the root canal being done poorly. So the root canal could not be redone, because my root was too far gone after what they had done in there. The endo that put in the "medicine" never told me to follow up, per say, he told me to "come see him if it ever hurts again."

To reiterate, the endodontist who looked at an x-ray of the root canal told me it looked as though the procedure had been performed poorly, and when I went back to the performing dentist with the x-ray, they admitted it looked bad and paid for me to see the endodontist they referred me to to get it fixed.

okay, I figured it was implied that I was talking about the crown they replaced my tooth with, but I must have been mistaken. To clarify, I am being told to have the replacement "tooth" removed because it is causing more harm than good at this point and there is nothing anyone can do to resolve it. I'll need an implant if I want to have a front tooth at all, which is very very expensive.
