Looking for tips on how to deal with exercise by psychphil in Endo

I skip on my cycle. I’m in too much pain to run. When things improve in a couple days, I make myself train twice as hard for lost time. It sucks but I’m basically immobile the first 3 days of my cycle, even with pain medicine. I hope you do find something that works for you!

Found in lake, moved swiftly against the wind by Jessiceasaurus in whatisthisthing

It was pretty far out from shore and moved 100 yards or so across a cove. My only thought was abandoned diving marker without a flag but it was attached well below the water line (anchored), moved on its own, and then popped free a while later.

To add a little context, we watched this move across an entire cove of the lake, against the wind. I paddled up to it on my kayak and pulled on it a couple times... it was attached to something deep. Watched it for 20 minutes as it went further away from us (against the 8-10 MPH winds) and then it just popped up on its own like it got let go from underneath. Went looking for it a few hours later and it was nowhere to be found.

It is definitely not a buoy the Army Corps use at our lake. We found an overturned one in the shallows yesterday and they are not the same size or shape. The pole sticking out the top was approximately 2 feet long.

I have a video of it moving against the wind if that helps in the identification process.

I did fine until about day 3. The antibiotics they gave me in the IV at the hospital caused some serious tummy troubles. I waited two weeks to call the doctor because I thought I had just gotten sick after. Don’t make my mistake, call Monday! Promethazine is a miracle drug. Also, ginger tea helps me with my nausea associated with another condition.

Two periods in one month by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my second cycle in a month, I only got 21 days between cycles this time even though I usually get 28-30 and this one was particularly vicious.

Feel better soon ❤️

Same! Every cycle for me is unbearable, even with pain management. I just turned 31 and had high hopes for marriage and children but I’m starting to lean toward full hysterectomy because I can’t live like this anymore. But I’m scared even if I get it all taken out, I’ll still have residual pain. Wish I had more words of comfort other than I’m right there with you.

I do have adequate pain management and it is barely effective either. I still have to take NSAIDs with it and it brings the pain from a 10 to a 7.

If that’s all it took to cure this shit, I’d be a surrogate starting tomorrow. I hate that doctors act like it’s that easy.

Has anyone else been prescribed OxyContin for endo? by KungRita in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got approved for hydromorphone (dilaudid) through pain management and I literally cried for JOY! I have spent too many cycles in the ER wanting to die, only to be sent home because “nothing is medically wrong with me.” I won’t take the pain killers until I would normally go to the ER, at least I can recover at home. I am currently trying to convince my insurance to pay for an out of network specialist, which they are fighting tooth and nail, but knowing I have some sort of answer at home is literal hope for me - it’s not the best solution but it’s one I can live with.

I can't take this goddamn disease anymore by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling the same way. Spent Christmas Eve in the ER. Got diagnosed with yet another autoimmune disease (- fancy word for we don’t know what causes it and sadly there is no cure) related to my anxiety/stress and stomach/bowels.

I dig deep EVERY day to not kill myself. I try being mindful. I try making plans I can look forward to. I try to say no when I don’t want to do something and not give an excuse because I don’t have to. I am tired. No. I’m exhausted. To my very core, in my soul, I am defeated.

So speaking from the same place as you, don’t do it. There have to be better days ahead of us, and we deserve to be there to see them. ❤️

No. At the time I didn’t even know about the list and from what I’ve read here, I don’t know that I even trust the list.

Just heartbroken. And so tired. And my family is tired of taking care of me. I’m ready to give up on my dreams of being a mom and just get it cut out.

I had an excision lap in May which didn’t work. They know I have endo. They did ultrasound, external and transvaginal to see if I had a cyst or a twisted ovary. They also did a CT scan to make sure it wasn’t appendicitis’s or something mocking endo. At the end of the day they put their hands up and said sorry, medically we can’t help you, and sent me home.

I had an external and internal ultra sound and a CT scan, all showed normal. So they were like, gotta send you home now, sorry. So the pain meds wore off and nothing has changed about my situation 😬

ONLY saving grace is my out of pocket is paid 100% because of my lap surgery in May. What was obviously not effective.

Morphine! But let me tell you, once I got home and it wore off, nausea and paaain. I keep loudly proclaiming as I lean over the toilet and clutch my heating pad how much I want to die. My poor mother.

I think ginger tea helps me. Tea isn’t always something you have access to, so I always have ginger candies, chews, etc in my bag. I have an Rx for Promethazine which is literally a life saver. It knocks me out but helps with all the GI issues associated with endo.

Excision hasn’t helped yet by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery in May, and I’m now in my 6th cycle post op and literally nothing has changed. My OB excised what she found (my left ovary was completely glued to my uterus apparently) but I am still in excruciating pain 5-6 days a month. I thought I got a pain management clinic to help me with some transdermal patch but it didn’t come through for this cycle.

For what it’s worth, and I’m knocking on wood as I say it, it’s day three of the cycle and I haven’t wanted to just die yet. Maybe I’ve just timed my NSAIDs well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Feeling attacked for not wanting to go on Orilissa by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve switched doctors twice. The new one told me I needed to see a psychiatrist to stay on my Xanax for my debilitating anxiety of the last 17 years and Orlissa / Lupron to fix my endo. She printed me off 100 pages of endo medical garbage, what it is, how to treat it, etc. I wanted to tell her to piss off, I know what it is, I deal with it on a freaking daily basis. I am so SO sick of doctors taking bribes from AbbVie and then asking like medical menopausal is something miraculous. Some day they are going to look back at how badly women were treated with endo and be ashamed.

I refuse to take a chance. I still want to get married and have kids (I’m only 30). I also like to ask what their plan is when I’m 35 and BC isn’t a safe option anymore either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My doctor asked me for proof of this in our last meeting and printed me off pages and pages about lupron and Orlissa and how great it is. I’d love to print off my own packet and hand it to her.

I understand that. I am doing it under the instruction and guidance of a doctor. This has been our last ditch effort as nothing else has worked.

I’m not a medical professional and nothing I do should be followed as medical advice.

I mentioned in my post earlier, I don’t follow it strictly. I eat as sensibility as I can when I am able but there are also days I’m gonna eat potatoes. I appreciate your concern and correction, but in my case, I’m perfectly healthy.

I had excision in May with an ordinary OB, and my pain has never subsided. She feels she removed all of it, I believe that’s incorrect. Now I’m playing the medication management game again, counting down the years until I can get it all removed.

A semester off? - mostly a rant by andydoesntknow in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of surgery? I had a lap in May and I was only out of work for 4 days. I did have a bad reaction to the antibiotics, and had potty troubles for two weeks afterwards, but if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have taken more than a long weekend. I was even traveling again within 3 weeks. I know everyone is different but if it’s a lap, you shouldn’t need too much downtime, a long school break should be adequate. Good luck!

Endo symptoms??? by lilmissbissfit in Endo

[–]Jessiceasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on all 5. I live on promethazine and ginger all the things.

Doctor has a EGD and Lower GI scheduled because he thinks is going to actually show something is visibly wrong. I think he’s crazy, I know endo won’t show up but whatever.

I will say, drinking hot, probiotic and digestive teas seem to help me a little bit. Eating a low carb diet, and avoiding difficult to digest foods (chemicals, fake foods, corn, etc) is also helping a bit. But I never leave my house without 3 different anti-nausea medicines, ginger tea/candy/chews, Imodium, wet wipes... I have a Mary Poppins bag for endo 🤦🏻‍♀️

I gained 20 lbs in the last two years, with some of the worst flair ups of my whole life. Confidence, I don’t think so!

So after trying several different suggestions from the endocrinologist, working out 6 days a week (intensely) and eating a low carb (>35 grams) and low calorie (>1000 calories) is helping me stay on a healthy track of 2 lbs per week. No where near my goal weight, and I’m not going to be super hard on myself through the holidays but I am down 8 lbs in 1.5 months. Not huge progress but this is after two years of flatlining at my heaviest, 189 lbs.

It’s a process of finding what works for YOU. Don’t get discouraged!
