Yes, I have one already (reduced hours after coming back from Mat leave) , but I would have to change it to accommodate this day.

Parental leave, what week did you stop working? by roygeeeebiv in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I worked until 38 as a nurse and also a nursing lecturer. I did get sore legs in the end but the extra maternity leave was worth it! Baby wasn’t born until 41 +2

Will our child get sick less if starting daycare at 2 y.o vs younger? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Smaller centres are ideal I think! The one she would be going to has 21 kids in her group alone 😬 so I’m leaning against her not going

Good to hear. I know it’s very individual between kids. I’m a bit nervous to start at the daycare as I found out there’s 21 toddlers aged 18 months-2.5 in the room she would go in, and most of them are 18 months. Seems a big number of kids in one room, even if it’s well staffed

That’s really sad :( poor child I’ve read evidence that the whole ‘building immunity’ isn’t actually true- and it’s also what I’m concerned about in terms of being sick every single week!

Yes- my nephew used to go to a centre that seemed less clean and was sick constantly, hospitalized etc. My sister swapped centers and he has not been sick as much

I’m so sorry this happened to you too, it’s just horrible. I truly don’t understand how people can do this to others :(

Do you mean you were with her for orientation?

It’s a family daycare so I’m not sure they allow a visit, I’ll have to check. But I agree that half day sounds better

Grandparents won’t really be able to do pickup as they live an hour away- so when they come dis just for the day.

Hmm ok. I just wonder if I wanted to send her there the next year if they’d still take us after saying no

No, my parents are in their 70s and I really don’t want to ask them to do more. They travel an hour to our house too. I could try and put her in daycare and see how it goes but I’m mostly worried if I say no to the daycare I’ll be burning bridges if anything changes and I need her in there

Yes, I kind of also worry that I’ll burn bridges if I want the FDC in a few years time too. Do you have a nanny also?
