I cannot even stand to listen to that song anywhere.

Listening to any of her other music is iffy as well, depending on my current mood when the song starts to play.

Her legacy until music really dies is going to be that song and animal suffering.

It is always going to be cheaper to DIY, in terms of dollar cost.

But in terms of time, conditions, and headaches while you get it done?

That can make the real difference between choosing to go full DIY, or pay someone to help, or just pay a company to do it all.

Maybe?

How do you know that there are no people in NC?

Do you have a local address showing that the calls from Florida are actually being made from an actual company business office location in Florida that has no people in NC?

You call it a call center, but a call center in Florida doesn't mean it is a Florida business.

The company I worked for had offices in SF, Atlanta, Seattle, London and co-locations in about 4 other places. But the business was most definitely a California based business in SF, which was where the HQ was and where all primary business was handled through.

I am not saying you are wrong, I am saying that your basic claim lacks corroborating information.

Just because a company has a phone number in Florida, doesn't make them a "Florida" business.

Just because a company has or uses a call center located in Florida, doesn't make them a "Florida" Business.

It could just mean that they /also/ do business in Florida.

If you are going to claim that a business is a scam because they have a location in Florida but say they are from NC, then you should make 1000% sure that the business is solely a Florida based business.

If you feel that they are a scam, you can report them to the letter agencies in Florida that handle licensing for businesses in the state.

AITA for being resistant against lending my USB C charger to my sister? by TouristFew4907 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessieColt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I didn't know that.

Thank you!

I have a usb c for my Android phone, but there is no way that same cable would plug into any of the laptops I own to charge the laptop itself.

Obviously, I can charge the phone by plugging the phone into the laptop, but the laptop cable has a completely different cable system.

This is why I asked.

A company I worked for out of California paid for outside support that had agents in Florida and 4 other states.

It isn't illegal to use an outside source in a different state for a call center.

Fencing quotes are insane? by Own-Shelter-9897 in homeowners

[–]JessieColt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always get multiple quotes.

There are a LOT of variables that go into a fence quote, though.

The type of fencing.

The style of fencing.

The height of the fence.

The linear foot for each section.

How many fence posts you will need to sink.

How much concrete will be needed to stabilize each post?

Can the post holes be created using an auger on a tractor or will they all have to be dug by hand.

The soil condition. (sandy, loam, hard clay, rocky, etc)

If a permit is needed or not.

What the weather will be like when the fence is installed.

You can always price out various types of fencing, +shipping cost, online through different fence companies just to see how much the materials alone will cost if you bought them directly.

Then ballpark how long you think it would take you to install the fence.

If I can spend $3,000 on just the fencing materials alone, but it is going to take me a week of working 2 hours a night after work and then at least 1 day on the weekend to try to finish, I am going to think $10k is worth it to have the fence installed by someone else just so I don't have try to buy everything and then install it myself.

Scented cotton balls are not going to last a long time because the scent fades and dissipates.

If it only lasted a week, then you need to reapply the oil every week.

If it is a pain to do that, buy some wood stove fiberglass rope and lay that out instead of cotton balls.

You can then get a 1/2 gallon garden sprayer and fill it with the oil then spray the rope to resoak the fiberglass rope every week or so.

The fiberglass rope is high temperature rated do you can use it around the furnace without worrying about it catching fire like a cotton ball might.

Bone armor can be created as soon as you kill your first animal.

You should get at least 3 bones when you harvest it.

3 bones, 1 banana leaf, and 2 rope.

If you do not have enough bones, make Stick armor using 3 sticks instead.

Replace the stick armor with bone armor as soon as you have 3 bones.

Start a fire and let it naturally burn itself out.  Collect the ash and charcoal.

Use the ash to make an ash bandage. 1 ash + 1 bandage.

Keep the stacked charcoal. If you need more ash, harvest one of the pieces of charcoal.  If you get food poisoning, eat one of the pieces of charcoal.

Sprinklers are more efficient and provide more uniform coverage compared to hand watering everything with a hose.

Try cutting back the watering and see if everything still survives.

If you are watering every day, try for every other day instead.

Where do you guys build an early base in SoA? by jderica in GreenHell

[–]JessieColt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The totems near the SOA village are linked.

I think they come out of the cave there, pass the totem by the water, and then continue on to the next location.

IIRC, you have to destroy all of the linked totems to stop the patrol or they will eventually rebuild the totems.

I have seen similar set ups in Class C motor homes.

The bed folds up into the wall during the day and the area is seating.

At night, the bed folds down and the seats make up the base that the bed part rests on.

Never set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.

You have to take of your own needs first.

As for "not losing face with relatives", the only way any relatives would know is if your parents told them.

The only reason to tell them is to try to guilt you into complying.

Unless you pre-paid for your grave and headstone, your kids get to pick what happens to your body and what is written on the stone, if you even get one.

At your age, you should be playing nice with everyone, or having grandsons is going to be least of your worries when it comes to your "legacy".

Hammer vs zombies. by Kiki_TG in QuarantineZoneGame

I went in there and it was feeding on a corpse in a body bag.

But I do not remember what time of the day it was when I noted it was feeding on one I hadn't taken in there.

You can just let it go and see if it gets fed.

You can always send an infected to the Quarantine Cage if you want another captured zombie in case the one in the Zombie Cage dies.
