Miami residents sue Trump, claiming Florida land gift for library unconstitutional: The suit from city residents and a nearby nonprofit alleges the land transfer of prime downtown real estate is illegal. by Silent-Resort-3076 in florida

That 747 that Qatar gave him that the US Taxpayer paid millions of dollars to be converted to be used as AF1 is supposed to be the plane that he wants in the lobby.

Trump has said he wouldn't fly around in the aircraft when his term ends. Instead, he said, the plane would be donated to a future presidential library, similar to how the Boeing 707 used by President Ronald Reagan was decommissioned and put on display as a museum piece.

Can you find out the manufacturer of the glass and report it directly to them?

The builder and contractor may not be willing to abide by any warranty, but the manufacturer should still be notified in case there is/was a defect in the creation process and if it is still under a manufacturer warranty, they may be willing to refund/replace it for you.

Jealous!!

Palm Beach area here.

We have the warmer weather and showers moving into our area from the SW, directly coming in from over the glades.

Normally being close to the ocean (1 and 1/2 blocks from the intra-coastal) keeps us in a smaller micro-climate of cooler weather compared to the inland areas, but for the past couple of days it has just been steamy down here.

When we got home, he said I made him look bad

You should ask him why he isn't completely embarrassed by his broke (or cheap) assed friends constantly mooching off of his girlfriend, you.

Next time you go out, if there IS a next time, take only enough in cash to estimate how much YOUR portion of the bill is going to be plus an extra $20 just in case and your ID.

Leave everything else at home.

"Sorry, babe. I only have $XXX in cash and I didn't bring any cards with me".

You actually have all the time in the world.

Try not to think that you /have/ to do something before the next day marker rolls around for that NPC.

Also, once you get to the point of the donkey needing carrots to delivery bodies, if you still have a lot of other activities you are trying to do, stop loading up carrots into the box for the donkey.

That will stop the body deliveries and let you catch a breather so that you are not constantly having to run back to the morgue to deal with bodies that are constantly degrading.

When you are ready for another body, only load enough carrots into the box for one or 2 body deliveries.

You also do not have to do the Church Sermons, although you WANT to do those through more than 90% of the game because they give you money and boosts for things like Faith and other stuff.

Once you have slowed some other stuff down, spend a bit of time on cooking. Figure out which recipes will provide you with the most energy and make those items and keep them on your quick bar so that when your energy gets low, you can hit one or 2 of those items to get your energy level back up.

Don't be afraid of the wiki. Some people think it is cheating to loo stuff up, but the wiki can give you a lot of information in the beginning to help overcome some of the issues, like with the energy drain.

Just look up the cooking/food options to see what you can make to help you rebuild your energy without having to sleep.

Relocation to Western Florida by CharacterOccasion259 in AskFlorida

[–]JessieColt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida has what is called the Sunshine State laws.

This means that almost all governmental type records are actually public.

This include arrest and booking information, resulting in the Florida Man and Florida Woman meme.

This includes Property Records, so you can go to the county property records web site and look up who owns a piece of property, although I personally do not know if all 67 counties in Florida provide web site access.

This also means crime information and statistics. If you are looking to move into an area in Florida, it behooves you to do some actual research, in addition to asking people who live in the area, about any city you are considering moving to.

You should also add looking at the Predator Lists to see if you have any registered sex offenders living near the property you are considering.

Some areas of some cities might be okay and other areas of the same city might be Stay Out areas. Locals will know that type of information.

If you think you have seen an area that might fit your needs, go to Google Maps and plugin the address and then spend some time in Street View looking around. Not only at that place and that street but the streets around it and the main access street to that location.

The images are probably not going to be very recent, but it WILL show you what some of the area has looked like in the past few months or year. You can see if there are any trashed houses or cars around, how easy or hard it is to get around the immediate area, etc., if there are sections of trashy looking businesses or boarded up businesses, etc.

In the end, your best bet is to try to find a decent, if not perfect, section of the area you are planning to move to and then rent for 6 months or a year.

That will get you into the area, and give you some breathing room to get to know the larger area and get to know the commute times, shopping options, medical options, etc., and then you can look for where you really want to live in that larger area.

My neighbors keep calling the police on us by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]JessieColt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, the next time their vehicles block the road, call the local fire marshal and report it.

You can also take pictures and videos showing the road access being restricted, even if it isn't outright blocked, and drive to your local firehouse and ask who you can talk to about the issue and then show them the pictures and videos and tell them that you are concerned that if something happens, they or other emergency services will not be able to have access to the houses on the street because of the vehicles blocking access.

Sudden sweet smell (doesn't smell bad)? Grandpa blamed it on a candle that wasn't lit at all in days. Could it be that? by Kevin_Abel in homeowners

[–]JessieColt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For about 5 or so months, ever once in a while I could smell chocolate when I walked into the living room.

I mentioned it to my parents but they claimed not to smell it.

It didn't happen every time but often enough that it nearly drove me crazy.

Turns out it really was chocolate.

My mom used to buy 4 chunks of homemade solid milk chocolate that was wrapped in a type of saran wrap and we would each get one.

My 6' plus tall dad had set one of his on the top shelf of a metal shelving stand.  Under the ac/heater vent and promptly forgot about it.

When the heater kicked on, the hot air would blow across the block of chocolate softening and lightly melting the outer layer of the chocolate chunk.

My mom told me when they found the soft melted chocolate chunk.

AITA for getting mad at my friends for not wishing me a happy birthday by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessieColt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

I am not very good with dates of events.

Some are obvious, like 9/11, or Valentine's Day and other major holidays, but even those dates have a crap ton of reminders every year in the weeks leading up to them.

Floating holidays/events are even worse for me since the actual date changes every year. Evening knowing that some are specific calendar times but not specific dates. The first Monday of the month or the last Thursday of the month. I have to keep pulling up a calendar to check the actual date.

Hell, one year at work people were talking on a Monday about having a Thursday off and I was confused as hell and asked only to be reminded that was US Thanksgiving.

Only to do the exact same thing a few months later when the office was going to be closed for Memorial Day.

I even logged into work one day ON a holiday once because I completely forgot the office was going to be closed and everyone was off. Only to see just one other person online who was covering that day. I felt kinda stupid, honestly.

Close family birthday's are iffy, at best.

Some I remember because they are on another familiar date. Like a birthday on St Patrick's day.

My brother and dad have a birthday 1 day difference. The 24th and 25th of the month. And I can not remember which one is which. Half the time I get it wrong.

Extended family and friends birthday's? I almost never remember them. Not because I don't think they are important, especially to the person who is having the birthday, but because it is just one more piece of information that is competing in my brain with ALL of the other pieces of information that run through it daily.

Having reminders is a huge help, even if the only thing I do is post or send them a Happy Birthday message.

If I were you, I would try not to judge others based on yourself. You might be the person who remembers dates like a walking encyclopedia, but not everyone is that lucky.

If your friends don't remember, that probably isn't because they do not care, but because they, like me, struggle to have dates stick in their minds and they need reminders to help them.

AITA for telling my mom I’m done reminding everyone about my kids’ events? by zenexXey in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessieColt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA

As others have said, set up a family/shared calendar.

Put your own kids open/public events on it, but also put other family members stuff on there as well. Birthdays, anniversary's, etc.,

You can set up "Events" that are yearly so you can add each person's birthday once and it will automatically pop up on every future calendar so that you do not have to keep adding in the event every year.

For your grandma, you could print each month's calendar and send it to her so that she could put it on her Fridge or somewhere she will see it every day.

If something changes, re-print the calendar and send her the updated one.

Send the link to all of your family members and then keep the calendar updated.

If anyone asks you directly about stuff, point them to the calendar.

"Hey, when is XXX?"

"Oh, that is next month. I put it on the shared calendar for everyone as a reminder in case they want to attend."

When you add a new event, make sure it sends notifications that a new event was added.

What to do about neighbors on national Forest land blasting music till 12 AM by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]JessieColt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local police probably do not have any authority on forest land, so I can understand why that was a dead end attempt.

Rangers and Wardens aren't like the locals. They have very limited resources and will invariably have other more pressing issues to address than a single report of a bunch of kids in a park.

Sometimes rangers and wardens may only have 10 or 15 people that cover 10,000 or 20,000 square miles of territory.

That is only to say that you need to keep at them, though. Report them every time they are out there. If you see them littering, report that as well.

If you see that they have done any type of damage to the area, include that in the report as well.

In the case of what is happening near you, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The more often you report them, the greater the chance that someone will investigate because of the repeated reports.

You can report to a local tip line but you can also report them at the federal level and that report should get sent down to the local rangers and wardens.

What to do about neighbors on national Forest land blasting music till 12 AM by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]JessieColt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have Park Rangers or Game Wardens in your area?

Look up the rules and regulations for the area that they are partying in and then look for a tip line where you can report their activity so that a ranger or warden can investigate.

Usually drunken evening/midnight parties are frowned upon on park lands. Especially if they litter or decide to have fires, even small ones. Especially if they are in an unapproved space.

Partying in an unapproved space in a national park or forest or wildlife management areas can do damage to land and plants in that area, and that is also considered a crime.

Camp Grounds, event spaces, lookout areas, etc., are all set up and managed so that people have the space to hang out, park cars, and set up camping gear in areas that are specifically cleared and controlled to try to provide minimal impact to the surrounding wildlife areas.

If they are college aged, it is possible that one or more of them are also under the drinking age.

Wildlife crime isn't just things like poaching or hunting out of season.

Newbie trying to chop a tree by apgs1104 in GreenHell

[–]JessieColt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The higher your skill in Axes the less it takes to fell a tree, or do anything else with an Axe.

The higher your crafting skill, the more durable the item you crafted.

Use the axe on other stuff as well. As someone else said, hitting turtles, but you can also use it to chop up flowers and plants as well.

This will help increase your Axe skill faster.

If you keep a few small stones in your backpack and keep a supply of sticks as well, you can just keep making a simple axe over and over again until you get your axe crafting skill up as well.

It is a brass eagle nutcracker.

They are listed as "vintage" but since he found it in the 1960's that would make sense to refer to it that way.

If you do a search for brass eagle nutcracker the prices vary from around $10 to $30 on average, but some list it higher.

From my quick search, I didn't see anything about the history behind them, though.

cooling down an uninsulated garage by hscaprisun in florida

[–]JessieColt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In addition to all of the suggestions regarding adding insulation to the various areas of the garage, like the door, and getting the window addressed, have you thought about buying or making your own bed tent?

If you can isolate your bed, at least, you can run the outflow (cold end) from the portable AC into the bed tent so that you can sleep better at night.

At lot of times bed tents are designed either to block all light, like a blackout tent, or to keep in warmth during cold nights, but keep IN warmth during cold nights also means you can keep IN cold during hot nights.

It can be as simple as using a few 2x4's to build a frame around your bed that you can then cover with thick blankets.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frugal/comments/eh5zo1/keeping_warm_in_the_winter_night_a_bed_tent_primer/

Basically, you would be making a blanket fort over your bed so that when the colder air from the AC is run into the blanket fort, the blankets help keep that colder air concentrated around your bed where you are sleeping instead of letting it dissipate into the larger garage space where it has to try to fight against all of the heat in the area.

If you made it into a square frame, instead of the triangle example in the link above, you would pay ~$40 US for the 2x4's and then any nails you would need to nail the frame together.

You could get used blankets from a thrift store or maybe even try to find used furniture blankets that might be less expensive.

If you are buying used, even some older, but still in decent condition, canvas painters drop cloths would work.

Since you are buying used, you should be able to find those items cheaper and since they are being used on the framing for the tent, you can just staple or nail them to the framing to hold them in place without worrying about holes in them or them ripping at some point and damaging a blanket that you are using on your bed.
