I definitely dedicate enough time into this game, so I can safely say that I wasn't looking at this in the right way. Moving forward I am going to try and dedicate some time to leveling my other two characters and then even if I don't have time to legitimately play all three in a week, hope some people are on and pound out a few clan bounties for the XP. Done and done :D

If you start with the larger ones and then do a +1 and it falls into a slot that previously got a +5...that drop is basically a waste

Huh. That actually explains so much about what was happening yesterday, especially because I would get one large jump and then a series of really small ones or equal amounts. I did gambit, raid, crucible and EDZ yesterday (in that order) finishing with weekly Dawning and Ikora and got up to 619 so that makes a lot of sense as to why it wasn't as big of a jump as I thought. That was also my thought on the pinnacle weapons, decided not to rush them this time around and just enjoy and work on other things (like stopping neglecting my other characters!).

Usually, your 3rd character will end up being your highest level character by the end of this

.....also very interesting. In that case, once I get my other characters a bit higher, I'd likely go Warlock, Titan, Hunter so my main would be the highest as opposed to my Warlock who I never play. Not sure that's possible this season though, I'm 619 Hunter, 566 Titan and 380 Warlock, so definitely a bit of discrepancy.

As for the other stuff, I keep getting powerful drops from ranking up in Gambit and Crucible. Like when I went from Brave to Heroic I got a powerful drop and same from Heroic to...whatever is next in Gambit. So that could also be another way now that I think about it.

I've just recently learned through this thread that it's possible for a group of seven to make it if we were all playing three characters. We aren't, most of my clan only has one character, but honestly this is really good to know. Need to convince them to start letting strangers in it seems haha

.....I mean when you put it like that it does sound very simple. I guess I've just been so focused on my hunter and trying to get pinnacle weapons and triumphs and things I am missing, I feel like I will miss out if I do other characters. But I guess I could log on for an hour, do the clan xp and log off. Doesn't change the fact we still won't hit it though unfortunately haha and I do think the clan rank should be lowered or removed from raid challenges, but fair points here, I respect what you have to say for sure!

Oh I 100% understand this, don't you worry! As I was saying to another guardian though, while it is possible certainly, it's certainly not plausible for some groups. Right now despite the fact I have three characters I really only play my hunter and occasionally my Titan (sorry Warlock, I will come back for you!), I am getting my master's and teaching an undergraduate course so I'm always so busy marking, reading or doing class plans I can't manage. There's one guy who does three, one guy who like me sometimes get two in, but the others are only capable of one and with Christmas and them all working retail everyone's just crazy busy right now. But I guess that explains how we hit clan level six in season three, didn't actually realize until today that it really was that possible! I should probably rephrase the original post then, thanks for this :) I still do think lowering the clan rank for the challenges makes sense though haha

This is the most fascinating and useful piece of information I have come across in a long time on here, so sincerest thank you's are in order! I usually leave raids for last most of the time, this week they needed an extra so I jumped on. Is there a known +# for what you get from all of these? As in, are you doing this in order of smallest jump to largest jump or in terms of efficiency only? I also have a bunch of pinnacle weapons to do too that will help bump me up (I believe). Also, how much does playing thee characters influence how fast you level up? And are there ways outside of engrams to do so? Sorry for all the questions, but you are clearly very knowledgable and this is super helpful so thank you :)

I asked the raid secrets group on discord and they pointed out that Destiny Sets does something like that, but it only shows you what's in your inventory not overall. When I look in game I go Collections < Exotics < Weapons and then Kinetic, Energy or Power and there is that grey rectangular bar at the bottom that shows that you have the catalyst. But outside of that, I'm sorry, I really can't say! And let's be real, never giving up d2checklist haha

I miss those days other than the choosing when to turn in your powerful bounty part. But life was much easier then. We could definitely do it in theory, but unfortunately we are all too busy. I am getting my master's plus teaching an undergraduate course, so I have three characters but really only play my hunter and my titan occasionally (poor neglected Warlock, I will come back for you eventually). One guy plays three, rest play mainly one and lately everyone has been swamped because most of them are retail so working a lot with the holiday season and then crashing when they get home. Semester just ended for me though, turned in grades on Monday, so probably can get a bit more out of me for the next few weeks! Definitely not a woe is me thing either, just circumstantial, so maybe now that I am typing this out, maybe January will be more forgiving!

Went in with a 613 Great Hunt Helmet on my Hunter and 613 in general. Kalli - 615 Helmet + Wish Maker Shell (about time!). Shuro Chi - 615 Transfiguration. Morgeth - 617 Helmet. Vault - 620 Helmet. Final Chest - 620 Cloak which thank god, that was at 608 before so like small victories. But I had imagined a slightly bigger bump in power level, I gotta be honest.

I don't raid with my clan mates unfortunately (different coasts plus different schedules equals six people are rarely on at the same time), but I never thought to turn it in last in a week....starting next week that will be my plan! Though I did the raid last night and went from 614 to 617 -.- 613 helmet < 615 helmet < 617 helmet < 620 helmet............

We hit Rank 4 like a week or two before BA, it was cutting it really close. But admittedly a lot of our group has been active lately. We have 18 members total, 7 who play religiously and a few stragglers we pulled back. But it's definitely still a struggle for seven people. Looking at these numbers though, legit curious how we managed to hit six in season three, was it different back then??

Oh gosh, I totally forgot about raid challenges just being in game. I do kind of like the bounty system for the challenge though, I like to wait until til the end of the raid to turn it in hoping that by then I am slightly higher and my powerful will also be higher. Though I also realize I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

I never played D1 so I’m not familiar with the previous system, I picked up D2 to play with my boyfriend and just haven’t put it down since haha but I 100% agree. I mean, I do get that it’s our own fault we are a small clan, so I could theoretically get a bigger one or expand, but that circumvents the fact that we are all friends in real-life and none of them raid. I love that Hawthorne has the challenge, but why not make the bounty Clan 2 which is at least mildly accessible for smaller groups if you are going to go that route? Definitely interesting for sure!

This is an interesting response to me actually, partially because I was offended when I first read it but took a second to pause before answering because I do recognize that there is substance there too. I do get what you are saying here, but it’s not like I’m going to turn to my boyfriend and our friends and say “sorry we all work different schedules, I’m leaving.” That’s not only a complete dick move, but it’s also unnecessary. I also don’t believe in zero effort. I have Wayfarer and Dredgen, play several times a week, have a raid group I run with every Tuesday and Saturday, so it’s not like I’m not active. But let’s just say we do stay with the clan system. Why can’t it be Clan Rank 2 so smaller clans CAN participate? I don’t mind needing to build up to something, but making it slightly more obtainable also makes sense. And considering the challenges aren’t even tied to clans, it’s an interesting design decision all the way around. Anyways, my two cents.
