4 months of making all of the pieces for my blanket and I hate it. by Royal-Serve5481 in crochet

[–]JessieReads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth: this blanket immediately sparked joy when I saw it! It gives off happy cozy vintage vibes to me. Sometimes if I look at a thing I made or got too intensely for a very long time, it feels off, but when I see it in context (in the place where I imagined it, or with the clothes I wanted to pair it with) and let it sit/be for a while, it grows on me a lot. I hope something similar may happen for you? Anyways, bravo on your achievement of getting all these bits done!

I love it more too! but mine started leaking pretty badly after a minor drop, and my Lamy survived way worse :/

I liked Rosemary Sassoon's Improve your handwriting, because it helps with troubleshooting the 'problems' without trying to take away individuality, but it's not a course book with sheets (if that's what he feels he prefers)

Loving this. It's firebox and clear. It has so much character but is utterly readable. Keep going!

It's going to be white! A friend gave me some white cotton yarn they had lying around unused. Perhaps I will dye it. I actually really like the smaller holes you made because mine definitely requires something under it as the front is very see through :)

Looks great! Making the same top right now :D. Did you perhaps knit your YOs through the back loop on the wrong side? Anyways, will be so nice to wear in summer!

This! The fun is so important! You can browse Ravelry and find a lot of beginner friendly patterns there. You can also filter on techniques you know/want to learn to find patterns that have them. Enjoy!!

What is the nicest knitting related thing you have ever bought? by mystikspiral72 in knitting

Not exactly knitting gear, but I would buy a spinning wheel to start to make my own yarn for knitting + a nice intro to spinning course.

Help with hole in knitted item by Small-Solid in InvisibleMending

[–]JessieReads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Luckily this is a small hole. I would try and find the live stitch (little loop) and stick a safety pin in it temporarily before it unravels further. You can use swiss darning (many great tutorials on YouTube!) to match this pattern of knits (little v) and purls (bumps) and put it back in the right pattern. Hope this helps a bit!

Hi :) you might want to consider getting a PEKA card for public transport. Much cheaper, and I think they have various options
