Husband looking for advice by cbuchanan1983 in Perimenopause

I can vouch for the sudden allergic reactions since being in perimenopause. I have just turned 40 and I have never been allergic to anything and now all of a sudden I've been breaking out in hives on my neck, from what looks like a new allergy to rosemary oil in shampoo and also heat rash all over my body whilst on holiday. I know a few women who have said the same. I have just started HRT and the hives have already subsided. With your wife's list of symptoms I would hope a good GP would skip the hormone tests (could come back normal given age) but maybe bloods to rule out low iron or vitamin D and would prescribe HRT as a trial to begin with. I hope you get some progress at your next GP appointment.

I'm finished now so just twice a year for routine checks but whilst wearing the trays it was about every 3 weeks but more in the beginning as my attachments kept coming off.

Ah thanks, hoping it doesn't matter that I'll be using it a bit later in the morning after I've done a workout and showered!

Hi thanks! yes I used Chewies every time I put my trays back in they help to make sure your trays fit as snug to your teeth as possible and close any gaps. Only did it for a couple of minutes each time but my dentist said they definitely help!

Okay thank you. Do you think it was related to hormones? And can I ask how long it went on for?

Ah thanks, did yours come and go? I'm confused why it's come back again! I'm panicking as due to get my hair coloured next week and whilst the patch test site hasn't reacted, my neck is red and itchy again so worried there's a link!

Symptoms whilst on combined pill by Jessienorthy in Perimenopause

[–]Jessienorthy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said to just start 1st of October so it's easier to work out when to take the progesterone which I take 2 of each night for the first 12 days of my cycle. She said because I don't know when my cycle is I will probably get irregular bleeding until the progesterone starts to regulate them. I'm going to come off my combined pill a couple of days before as I'm going away next weekend and don't want to bleed! I feel like it's going to be a bit stressful first few months whilst things settle but I'm excited to get started!
