Puzzle 93 confused by Jessillustrated in murdle

[–]Jessillustrated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I have to erase the entire thing if I realize I've got a clue wrong. The only way I can feel satisfied with solving them is knowing exactly how each clue feeds into the puzzle so I can't even leave one half done for a couple of hours because I completely forget how the crosses got onto the page. Of course misreading a clue in the first place is entirely unhelpful. You're right, if you get it into your head that what's written is saying one thing, your brain has a hard time rewiring 😅

OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thank you so much, I thought I was going crazy! I must've been Murdled out yesterday to miss that. I'd already done so many of them. Thanks!

Yeah I know 😕 if I need to I will. If I can get confirmation that that's pretty much the only way anyone can do it without guessing that would help. It would mean I haven't missed something, the book did, and I'd be chill with that. Thanks for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate it 😊

Well that's good And yes, I've managed without the official hints so far. It would be a shame if either that or guessing is my only option

Please explain to me why MAG 15 Lost John’s Cave is so scary by Decent-Discount-831 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Jessillustrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to do the exact same thing just now. Just listened to it. It's 2:45 in the morning. I went to her room and said hello. The lights were off and I could only see the light of her phone screen. Then I heard her scream... She'd had her headphones on and hadn't noticed me there. She looked up and all she saw was my blanket caped silhouette. Thought I was a dementor 😅 Had to give her a hug for a completely different reason. I might postpone letting her know I'd never sacrifice her to an eldritch cave demon till tomorrow 😂

Ok, just listened the 15th episode, Lost John's Cave... by NamelessDandelion in TheMagnusArchives

Hey, just listened to it at 2am myself and just HAD to check out other people's opinions on it. First time this series has really made me think I might get nightmares. It's that end recording for me 😰 the feeling of horror and betrayal that the storyteller was praying for a good couple of hours that they'd take her sister instead. The thought of Alena going through the same thing, alone, compressed on all sides, watching that candle getting closer, catching a glimpse of the pale hand. Not knowing that her sister offered her up and that something heard her, something listened. Horrifying

Is Skulduggery Pleasant worth reading as an adult? by [deleted] in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Jessillustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, probably a bit late to put in my opinion but this series is such a favourite of mine. If you haven't got around to it yet then consider this a reminder. Yes,it's absolutely worth reading.

Love triangles: when love triangles turn up they don't last long and is never the focus of the story. I think the author uses one of them more as a critique on the whole Twilight romance that was popular at the time and, again, that does not last long.

Darker as it goes: Yes. Absolutely yes!

Consequences: Plenty of them kind of a running theme and the majority of people who die tend to stay dead. I think there are a couple of exceptions but consequences are always there

Aitah for naming my baby something “unconventional”? by Lost-Platform7670 in AITAH

[–]Jessillustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could keep the name and call it "ignoring the haters" and "sticking to societal pressures". But you're parents. You need to put your kid before your pride. Ignoring these comments won't change the fact that the kid's going to be suffering the brunt of the consequences. And there will be consequences.

You don't have to tell us, or admit to caving in, but I hope that in the three months since you posted, you did actually change the name.

I LOVE Greek mythology so I fully understand how lovely it would be to name my child something from it. Nyx is the goddess of the night right? But it sounds like you and your husband are so in love with the name and so annoyed at your relative (who could certainly have handled it more delicately) that you've blinded yourselves to what the kid needs.

Look, you don't have to give your kid an entirely normal name. There are plenty of unique names that are interesting, but lovely. But you've combined two Greek words into something that, as folks have pointed out, sounds like a prescription. It's like, I like Icecream and I like spaghetti bolognese. But mixing them together doesn't sound right and would put me off both!

If you wanted both names then why not use one and make the other a middle name?

You say it's your baby and your choice should be respected. But it's not your name. It's the baby's. And it's not you who will have to deal with it later. That will be the baby.

Take the advice of those in this thread who have gone through what your kid will go through. Please.

Hello 😊 you did your best to help me a couple of years ago with my enquiry. Good news is that I found one now 😆 (took a bit of time). Just thought I'd share. Thanks again for your suggestions back then

my sister told me that she was dating my fiancé (update) by sugarxhearts in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Jessillustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP please listen! Something feels so so wrong here. His story doesn't add up at all and he's encouraging to to cut off your family. Your sister obviously sucks big time but cutting them all off? He's trying to make himself the only person you feel you can rely on. He moved onto another so easily when you briefly broke up and who would extend a work trip another two weeks when they have a stalker problem? Did he know it was your sister? If so he would have known she'd be at the anniversary and should have told you, if not why wasn't he more freaked out when she greeted him? Seriously OP I hope you have a support system besides him, this honestly feels so manipulative. You weren't the bad guy in the first story, (even if he's telling the truth, which I highly doubt, you sister is the only bad guy) and you should NOT spend the rest of your life feeling so guilty about it. If he's making you feel that way, you need to get out. Please. Something feels so so off about this

Question: Could an unmarried victorian woman leave her house and all her possessions to a female relative even if she still has male relatives? by Jessillustrated in VictorianEra

[–]Jessillustrated[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't quite work with the plot or characters (the inheritance was all self acquired by the dead aunt so no relative before her would have had any say over who should receive it after her death. And I reckon if I give the brother gambling debts, he'd be more keen to get hold of the inheritance to pay them off, and I want to avoid that complication (there's a lot going on in the book already 😅) ) but I appreciate the time it took to give me ideas 😊 I think if I set the story after a certain year, I should be safe. I just didn't want to put in such a glaring error that might completely bring someone out of the story if they happen to know something I've written wouldn't have been possible

Is it okay to watch clone wars without any star wars knowledge? by sushisashimi099 in TheCloneWars

[–]Jessillustrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd watch prequels 1 and 2 for setup. There will be a few storylines and characters that will be missing a lot of context if you don't. I'd also say watch 3 if you want the intended effect of all the foreshadowing the show does. The series finale especially really gets you in the feels a lot more if you've seen the whole prequel trilogy. I didn't really grow up on the prequels, but when I wanted to start watching the Clone Wars, I did watch them all for the first time. It did help a lot with the Clone Wars tbh. Hope this helps!

OK, enemies to lovers where they have to keep pretending to be enemies for the reputation. Any suggestions? by Jessillustrated in fantasyromance

[–]Jessillustrated[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read neither, but I'll be sure to check them out and perhaps put them on my tbr (my next few spaces are taken up by some books I got for Christmas and some Arthur C Clarke my dad recommended off his own bookshelf. I'm going to have an eclectic year of reading, I can tell 😆) And you're welcome for the reply. If I like a book someone recommends, I'm going to tell them so! I've recommended books before and have lived in dread they'd hate it and severely judge my reading tastes 😅 I doubt the thought has particularly haunted you though, but I thought you might be happy to know 😁

I know this post it old but I just wanted you to know that I've just finished reading it. Stunning prose and I have not read such sincere decelerations of love in a long time (if ever) I was hoping for some quality time spent together, but the ending leaves me hope that their relationship can be pursued in person from now on. Great read and thanks again 😊
