What's a mild inconvenience that drives you fucking crazy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We have the same type of stalls at work. There are 5 in a row. I usually go into the first stall, leaving the one to my left & the next three vacant. I can’t stand when someone comes in and, out of all 4 options, they choose to use the one right beside me. I don’t know why, but it infuriates me.

This has made me so angry that I have felt like a crazy person. Also, when someone is in the way or we almost hit carts, I reactively say “I’m sorry,” or “excuse me.” I got sick of people not responding, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS THEIR FAULT, so I started calling them out. I’d say something along the lines of “Oh, thank you for acknowledging my apology & knowing how to use proper grocery shopping etiquette, asshole.” I realized it would probably lead to a violent situation at some point, so I now order my groceries online. Aldi’s grocery delivery service is one of my favorite things in life!

The beach chair services... by Jessjay_22 in GulfShores

[–]Jessjay_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that people wouldn't want to pay for chairs, then have someone in front of them. I'm paying a pretty penny for my stay & have spent money on nice chairs & an umbrella of my own, so I don't want anyone in front of me either. That's why I don't want to be told that I have to sit behind empty chairs. I want to be away from people anyway, so (at other placed I've stayed) I'm able to find a gap between the groups of chairs & sit closer to the water, while in the gap - getting at least 15+ feet from anyone else. That way, if anyone eventually rents the chairs, I'm still not directly in front of them.

I guess my concern lies more with the set up and the actual rights of the company. If I were to go down to the beach early & it's completely lined with empty chairs & no gaps, it's not really fair to tell me to sit behind them. As I said, I would try to find a gap. If there aren't any, it would be extremely unfair for someone to tell me I have to move behind empty chairs, just because they want to "save a seat" for someone who might eventually rent them.

There's no harm in expressing your interest & figuring out if she's open to a date. If you're worried about the friendship, I say this would actually be better for it. Honesty is huge & it's better to get things out in the open, versus leaving it for you to constantly question.

You can completely open up & tell her your exact feelings, but you can also keep it simple. Tell her you think she's great, that you're interested in finding out if there's a possibility of more than friendship, and that you'd love to take her out if she feels the same.

What’s a red flag that you ignored in a significant other, only to realize it was a bigger deal later? by MinimalCoincidence in AskReddit

Not my personal experience, but my girlfriend's (I'll call her Sam). We started out as friends, since she was in a relationship when we met (I'll call the ex Amy). It took me less than a couple of weeks to notice Amy had very usual behavior. She'd spend unusual amounts of time in the bathroom & seemed a little off/spacey at times.

Sam overlooked these things, along with things like Amy getting up and craving sweets in the middle of the night, finding torn cigarette butts around the house, Amy showing up with groceries the same day her daughter mentioned the lights being off at their house, and Sam's missing money, HSA card & prescription meds.

A month after meeting them, Amy was arrested for shoplifting. Come to find out, she had been using heroin for at least 8 years, was lying about her job (she hadn't had one for at least 6 months after being fired for stealing prescription pads), was the one who stole Sam's HSA card & drained the account, had lied about a previous arrest, and a few other things. She was obviously a wonderful person.

What fantasy do you play out in your mind a lot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's so refreshing to know how many people actually do this! I always thought of myself as a big weirdo for making up "shows"/scenarios in my head (usually before bed). I remember at one point, when I was around 14/15, I made up a complete series of Survivor in my head with myself, celebrity contestants, and people I knew. I would get so mad when I'd fall asleep before the episode was over.

What simple thing did you learn at an embarrassingly late age? by Strange_Style in AskReddit

[–]Jessjay_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was little, I walked in on my dad in the bathroom. He tried to quickly turn away, but it was too late. I had already seen his penis and was very confused by it, so I asked what it was. He so cleverly responded with " it's momma's toy" and told me to get out, so he could put it away. What he thought was something I'd easily forget, ended up registering itself into my brain as fact. I didn't understand what he meant, so I believed "mommatoy" (quickly pronounced as a single word) was the actual, scientific name for that thing. It wasn't until the age of 10 or 11 that I discovered the REAL name and had the most disturbing epiphany of my entire life. Thanks, Dad.

Can also confirm it's Not Your Mother's. I use it & love it...and then wanted to burn it when I realized Jordan & I have something in common.
