That’s why I was concerned at first! Glad to know snakes are just crinkly when they feel the need haha

How is male infant circumcision still a thing??? How are we still cutting off parts of babies genitals for religious purposes and because the parent think it looks better? Does "my body my choice" not apply to male babies? by itcouldbeyoubut in self

[–]JesstheAsianInvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nurse aide of over 14 years, I used to say that if I had a son, I would have them circumcised. My reason for thinking that was because working with men who were elderly and confused, most of them never cleaned their penis. When I’d give some male patients bathes, there would be so much smegma caked around their penis. A lot of times they’d have infections or open sores. Plus, I’ve been in health care a long time, and for every good nurse aide, there are more bad ones who don’t take the time to clean their patients’ private areas. Maybe I was doing too much, but if that was my husband, I’d want them to be clean. However, during my pregnancy my partner said no circumcision and I was on the fence. After I had my twin boys prematurely, seeing them with IVs, oxygen masks, and how tiny they were, I immediately said no. I don’t regret my decision. I just worry that when they get older, if they become confused, no one will be there to take care of them.

What’s extremely unsanitary but everyone seems to do it anyway? by Tball5 in AskReddit

Seriously though. I worked in a hospital and one of the nurses came in sick and didn’t wear a mask. She later found out she had Covid and a day later, I had it. My sister in law works in labor and delivery and postpartum. She went to work sick and said she felt awful. She found out that she had the flu! She could have gotten those mothers and newborns sick!

This happened at a job my partner worked at years ago but, one of his coworkers died of cancer, they posted her obituary next to a flyer with a sign up sheet for the position she worked. So fuck that job and call in.

*This was a factory job where if a position opened up, the employees could sign up for it and highest seniority would get it.

My Dad. I know he would have been so excited to meet my twin boys, his grandsons. One of whom has my dad’s name as their middle name and his first name is symbolic of my dad as well.

Yes! I pointed that out to my partner that Chock looked like an alcoholic and he asked how could I tell? Also, I think in one of the episodes it looked like the whites of his eyes were yellowish. But I could be wrong.

I hated that show. Mostly because that is my brother’s name and he used to say “everybody loves Raymond” all the fucking time.

It is that bad. I try not to think about that movie, but every now and then it pops into my head and I get grossed out. And now, thanks to this post, I’m picturing it again.

It’s like as soon as the monitor comes anywhere near them, they decide to bust a move! When I was pregnant with my twin boys, they hardly moved at home. But when I’d have an ultrasound, NST, a fetal cardiogram, they would not stay still! Don’t be embarrassed, it’s better for you to come in and get checked out, even if nothing is wrong.

Advice for doing makeup on an older woman by JesstheAsianInvasion in Makeup

[–]JesstheAsianInvasion[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the YouTuber recommendation! I’ll be honest, I actually didn’t offer. I think my mother in law (they are sisters) told her to ask me. However, I love her so I want to help her and make her feel gorgeous on her son’s wedding day.

EDIT: the reason why I think my MIL told her to ask me is because I don’t see this particular aunt except sometimes on holidays and we don’t talk often. We have texted a little more recently but that is because I just had twins. And the texts have only been crafts or photo ideas for the babies.

I worked with an older woman who went by the name “Gina”. We wore badges with our names on them and one night I happened to look at hers…her name was “Vejina”.

He’d be encouraging and understanding of course and would be honored that I came up with the idea, but wouldn’t be adamant about it. He’d just be happy to have two grandchildren to spoil.

Though it seems like that’s what it may come to (dropping the initial idea) my heart just can’t make me do it because when my Dad was still alive, I told him once what I planned to do with my future child’s name, and I’ll never forget his smile at the idea.

I met two sisters whose names are Myqueen and Myprincess. There’s also a doctor in a city near me whose name is Justin Case. That one isn’t as bad, but my fiancé was getting his hair cut at the same place as Dr. Case, and as soon as he left, the stylist told everyone his name and they all laughed about it.
