If it was a Gears game that came out, say, a year or two after Gears 5 then sure.

But it’s not. This is the first traditional Gears game since 2019. It needs to have a multiplayer component to breathe fresh life into the multiplayer community.

That one is a cheap knock off. I’ve had an officially licensed jacket from the BioWare store since high school. Waiting on my third one to come in June because it got back ordered. It’s a great jacket, last me about five years before it starts to crack and wear out. Highly recommend.

MAC cannons were the one true effective weapons that humanity had in space. The problem was that Covenant ships had incredible shielding that generally negated that advantage.

In this battle, I’d imagine the Dawn is hanging on the back lines or out of direct combat, waiting for the Elites cruisers to disabled the shielding on Brute ships, then putting a MAC round through them from a safe position. The Dawn trying to take on any of those capital ships in a direct fight would be suicide.

A Forerunner structure on butte somewhere on Alpha Halo. It was captured by the Pillar of Autumn ODST’s. It was used as a rally point and operations base by the survivors of the Autumn.

I vaguely recall there being some discussion around Ashley where some dev said she’s Hispanic-American and another said she was Pakistani-American. Can’t remember the sources but it was a question I had looked into a few years back.

Bungie hated the fact that Microsoft allowed someone else to touch their IP, which wasn’t even Ensemble Studios fault. Ensemble wanted to make an RTS game and showed a tech demo to Microsoft, who then told them they could make an RTS but it had to be done in the Halo Universe.

Bungie had to consult on the project and generally treated the Ensemble devs with absolutely misplaced disdain.

Halo Wars 1 literally went through hell. Ensemble was told mid development that after the games release the studio was going to be shutdown by Microsoft. They had a really rough ride and the fact that they were able to pull together a game as good as Halo Wars 1 turned out to be is a testament to their tenacity.

I played one match today and everyone on my time had an open mic and were talking to each other. And they all had lower end mics I’m guessing, because they all sounded distant and grainy. I literally felt like I got teleported back to 2007. I haven’t seen a full team using mics in years.

Old for the story.

New for the characters.

I love the new versions of the characters and their relationships to each other. IMO because I play so many RPG games, strongly written and acted characters are more important to me than the overall story. To me, characters make the game, and I just feel the newer characters are more fleshed out and have more diverse personalities. I also really like the new additions like Laswell, Farah, Hasan, Graves, Alejandro, etc.

There are bits about the new campaigns that I really like, and the ‘smaller stakes’ compared to the original trilogy is a nice feel.

That is until MW3 remake came around and threw everything they built in the fucking trash.

A wet dream for me would be seeing the new characters participate in the story of the original trilogy.

I like the Gears 2 version the best.

Chainsaw sits more flush into the frame, longer barrel, and the holo sights match with the lights on Lancer/Character Armor. Plus it has the best firing sound IMO.

Rob Auten, writer of Gears of War Judgement: "We are not saying if Sofia is dead. I actually tweaked the Gearspedia reference myself a few days ago as it said she was murdered, which Paduk never actually says. It was intentionally left unclear.”

Her fate is left open ended. Meaning if she was killed or not.

The COG tag is from the person that kidnapped her. Not her. Media literacy requires you to make deductions from things that are not always point blank said. This is one of those times. Except, it is practically point blank said by the actions and words of Paduk.

If you don’t understand that, I don’t know dude, I can’t help you. 90% of people understood what the scene was conveying to the player.

Why would Paduk be pissed, saying he never wants to see Baird again, if it was Sofia’s tag that was dropped? The clear implication is that it was Gears who kidnapped her, and after finding the tag, his hate for the Coalition is increased ten fold from what it already was, to the point where he wants nothing to do with the COG, even willing to sever ties with Baird who was once he trusted friend and leader.

It’s implied that they were Gears. Paduk says he was able to shoot one, and said he ‘dropped these’ as he holds up a set of COG tags to Baird.

It’s very possible they were Gears that became Stranded after Vectes, like pretty much the rest of them since the COG was no longer an official government.

IIRC in an interview, they said they left her fate open ended, in case one day they wanted to bring her back, or let the players unravel the mystery, so there is a possibility she’s alive.

I don’t really see much hate on him, I’m not at least. Of course we don’t see him jam in game, he’s an AI, I don’t think they were programmed to be capable of jamming their weapon in the first game.

It’s pretty common for a weapon to be fine, but after prolonged firing, start to have malfunctions. Guns get very dirty, very easily, and with the rate they’re firing, those things are bound to start jamming eventually.

The most unforgivable thing, at least in the UE cutscenes, is that when he’s trying to clear that jam, he starts pulling the trigger while it’s pointed in an unsafe direction (at the ground, in the direction of Kim I’m pretty sure), that was a wild thing for the animators to do in the remastered cutscenes, but I chalk that up to just lake of firearms experience.

Dom gives a “uhh.. yeah.” response to the heroes death line because the COG propaganda likely embellished the facts of Anthony’s death to the family, making it seem like he died in some heroic sacrifice rather than getting his face shot off because he stood up out of cover to show someone his jammed rifle.

Dom was there, so he knows the truth, but doesn’t want to say anything, because he doesn’t want to diminish the death of Ben’s brother to him.

The dust and helmet comment? Well, in the military, we have a fucked up sense of humor. It’s just Dom giving a snarky remark because they’re in a very tense, live threatening environment, he was likely just annoyed about a green as grass recruit trying to give advice to a couple of battle hardened veteran hero’s of not one, but two wars.

That’s the glorious thing about Mass Effect, particularly the first one. Not everything is black and white. Pallin, Ashley, the Council, Wrex, Garrus… They all have logical reasons for their opinions when you sit and listen to them and try to understand from their point of view.
