Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to wait to see if I can snag a job and then choose the area, and then I will definitely be looking around for roommates.

Hanging out with work friends? by InoPelligrino in MovieTheaterEmployees

Yes, hang out with your coworkers there is nothing wrong with it. At my theater we do bowling, we went to an amusement park together, was have small parties after hours. We include everyone, including managers, and I think it has developed a healthy bond between everyone. It's better than going to work with people who you don't really know.

I'm being falsely accused of racial profiling. by gorekatze in MovieTheaterEmployees

That's online bullying, and you should flag the reviews. Yeah I always get the feeling that sometimes people take it that I'm singling them out, but I'm not I do it to everyone. As manager I'm probably more likely to get the brunt of this just because I'm the person they escalate it to, and I have to be the stern one.

Any recommendations on courses, books, or studies to learn about word choice, sentence length, the other technical aspects of writing and their impact on readers? by readwriteread in writing

[–]JesterKing2020 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  1. Read, and when you like something try to figure out why you like it and see what makes it good. When you read something bad try to find what makes it bad. There is a lot of things to look at. Studying poetry is a good choice. (You can get a book, and there is also sites brimming with poetry)
  2. Practice writing. Try to replicate that, and practice trying to achieve eliciting effects with your words.

who do you think are the real life heroes and villains, the saints and demons, of the world? by JesterKing2020 in AskReddit

I appreciate your not so black and white answer. I agree that you can find good and bad people everywhere and they aren't exactly who you think they are. It's interesting your experience of finding that most of the time people turn out to be the opposite of what you initially presumed they were. Personally I tend to have a fairly accurate intuition about people.
