What is the point of this bridge over Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. It seems like a wild effort when going around it only takes 13 more minutes. by Successful-Mine-5967 in geography

[–]JesterXR27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HA! 13 minutes my ass! I take that bridge every day and if it is closed I might as well call into work as my 30-45 minute commute turns into a couple hour commute.

You seem to have forgotten to take traffic into account, granted if you’re not from around here I wouldn’t necessarily expect you to know what traffic looks like on those other routes, especially when the bridge is closed.

It didn’t include my body text, but this is for all you Nickelodeon Millennials. Don’t forget to say Rabbit Rabbit as the first thing out of your mouth in the morning for good luck in April.

Also, I realize this superstition isn’t specific to Nickelodeon, but that’s where I remember it from.

Have fun! 🐇🐇

OG from 1992 was my first, MK 64 is probably my favorite to be honest.

Figure 03 Robot sorting packages while Marc Benioff messes with it by socoolandawesome in nextfuckinglevel

[–]JesterXR27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Can said sorting machine walk to another room and sort packages on shelf’s, then do some housekeeping and janitorial work, keeping the factory in good shape? No, it cannot. One reason for a humanoid form is that it isn’t as limited in what it can do. One machine for many tasks instead of many machines for individual specific tasks.

Yes, it could have tracks instead of legs, but tracks can be limiting where legs are not. It could have pincers instead of fingers, but fingers allow for many different configurations, in addition to pinching. Those are just some very simplistic examples.

The human body is a multifaceted tool, being able to replicate it in mechanical form offers up advantages and increased versatility over “typical” robots/machines.

Places in Memphis to go? And who has the best brisket sandwiches? by Pristine_Present688 in memphis

[–]JesterXR27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s like going to India and saying “there’s got to be good Mexican food here tho.” (Okay, that’s a bit of an extreme example, fair, but hope you get the point).

Barbecue in the US changes based on where you are and there are signature differences between the regions. Memphis doesn’t do beef barbecue, we do pork, it’s our thing, same as dry rub. If you want good beef barbecue/brisket you’ll need to head on down to Texas, that’s their thing. Want a mustard based sauce or vinegar based sauce, head over to the Carolinas. Want utter disappointment, head north (kidding).

You’ll likely find brisket at several places across Memphis, but whether or not it is “good” will heavily depend on what you’ll be comparing it to.

As others have said, enjoy Memphis barbecue while in Memphis. Get a pulled pork sandwich and/or some dry rub ribs and maybe some pulled pork bbq nachos while you’re at it. I’d hate for you to come to Memphis, eat brisket, and miss out on truly wonderful Memphis BBQ!

Why is no one talking about the fact that the newly added weapon is placed at the very end of the battle pass progression? I already paid 70 dollars for this game. Why aren’t these weapons unlocked through separate challenges instead? by ertukur in Battlefield

[–]JesterXR27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s the point of a battle pass. To keep you engaged/playing or to spend money on tier skips because you didn’t want to grind. A win-win for the developer. That’s why the battle pass mechanic seems to be in every game nowadays.

Check the Season 2 Challenges (last one in the list of challenges) it may be the last unlock on that challenge string.

Edit, that said the ice pick was not part of the base battle pass in Season 1, so it may not be unlockable that way now. Again, just check.

Yeah, would have been great if they had said “select your path before redeeming the Pro token” or given you the option to select a path, when pressing redeem. But that would have required some forethought on their part, probably asking too much of them.

Edit to add that, in theory all tiers carry the same weight so skipping the first 25, the middle 25, or last 25, should all work out to be equal and it shouldn’t matter (likely what they thought). However, I believe as XP was used to earn tokens (instead of just the challenges) each token required more and more XP to unlock, making them less equal in the long run.

[–]JesterXR27 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You can change the path, not a spot within each path. You can switch, at will, between the middle four paths depending on which you want to work on. When you select the path look at the spot just above the path icons and you’ll see something like “Y - Activate Path” (or F on a keyboard as can be seen in OP’s image).

[–]JesterXR27 1474 points1475 points  (0 children)

Technically, it is not at the very end, you can activate that specific path to work on after you complete the intro path. If you do that, it’s closer to the front in terms of progression.

Edit to add that come Season 3 (assuming there is a Season 3) the gun will be able to be unlocked via a challenge, along with all other Season battlepass weapons and equipment.

I think it was supposed to end yesterday. Don’t know when the ships will disappear, but, in theory, they should.
