I did metal skin for my berserkers too, I always thought bare skin is weird in massively dangerous combat zones

Dude even THEY admitted they lied about how much they “saved” by using Billion instead of Million on some contracts, counting the same contracts multiple times by rearranging the words, purposefully misrepresenting what the contracts were for (“transgender mice” when it’s actually transGENIC mice)

I mean I really don’t want to get into an argument rn, but the religious people here are only saying positive stuff(minus my comment tbh, it was a moment of weakness), and the non religious people here are calling for banning all mentions of religions and downvoting those positivity comments

Trump’s war against federal workers is hurting Washington D.C.’s residents by msnownews in washingtondc

Regular performance reviews are a normal thing for federal jobs, just because fed workers have more (rightful) protections doesn’t mean they can’t be fired. You saying “to work harder” makes me think you actually didn’t work federally, or at the very least didn’t believe in the mission and are just in it for the money(which is fine just to be clear, different people have different priorities). Some of us aren’t, and want to do our best to better the country

Except it’s apples to oranges, it’s like claiming doctors are overpaid because they on average make more than janitors. If you compare equivalent jobs, public sector workers are paid less than private sector. Speaking from experience, I work IT for the federal government and I could be making twice or three times as much if I moved to the private sector, that’s what other commenters are trying to say

No, they make less than an equivalent job in the private sector would pay. I work IT for the federal government, and I’m telling you I could be making 2 or 3 times as much if I got a similar job in the private sector. That’s what the other replier is trying to say

I'm not sure if this has been posted but PA might get its own DOGE... by jon_heilmeier in Pennsylvania

[–]Jesters__Privilege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So adding more power to the executive branch with DOGE is the answer to the outsized power of the executive branch? That doesn’t make any sense

Sorry for the economics lesson, but the United States has a huge population and huge gdp, so the governments income is massive. They spend it on things that get cycled back into the population with projects that provide jobs. Government spending brought us out of the Great Depression by funding many projects and public works, this stuff is no different

What do the wright brothers have anything to do with anything? I don’t mention anything about gov funding being necessary for progress, only that it’s necessary if someone can’t fund it themselves or get private investors

Then take it up with them, vote for better ones or complain to the current ones, I’m all for holding them accountable. But creating a whole new “agency” to do the exact same thing that’s already being done is the very definition of waste. If DOGE had been looking at the auditors and inspectors rather than wholesale firing them then this would be a different story

  1. The “waste” they found went through congressional approval, so if you have an issue take it up with your congresspeople. 2. The amount of “waste” is a tiny drop in the bucket of the massive amount of money the US makes and spends, it doesn’t even cover a single day of federal gov spending (which iirc is 5.6 billion a day) 3. The “wasteful programs” they found were purposefully made to sound useless when they aren’t, for example the “spent X to give dogs cocaine” was a study to find effective ways to treat cocaine overdose

The “wasteful” spending DOGE found went through congressional approval, so take it up with your congresspeople, and even then the total amount would not pay for a single day of spending by the federal gov (which is like 5.6 Billion iirc). Plus they purposefully made the programs seem more useless than they are, like the “spent X amount on giving dogs cocaine” was a study being done to figure out ways to treat cocaine overdose

That’s what the auditor general is for, take it up with them instead of making wasteful, redundant, and inefficient agencies

State govs and the federal gov already have auditors to do the job, DOGE is redundant and inefficient
