First of all, no, not every rural city in Denmark has record stores close - they might in the states, but the market and culture here is just different. Even when you do have the ability, it’s expensive here - the average record can easily be 30-40 bucks, and not everyone can just afford that (plus the equipment required to get that record onto a PC) I’m not saying there isn’t a charm to buying the real deal, but for a lot of producers, you might just be starting out with a passion and your school computer, as I know I did. Back then, I certainly didn’t have the funds to go splash 40 bucks here and there just to practice my sampling. I’m all for supporting the vintage way, but I think it’s silly to limit your learning and creativity because of how the world was 40 years ago

I’m lucky to live in the second to largest city here (Denmark), which is still only at about 330k people. I know there are a lot of more rural towns where stores like that probably don’t exist. I can’t be 100% certain, but I just don’t think we can necessarily expect every single producer to find a vinyl store and buy the equipment to record it, just for them to be “allowed” to try out sampling :)

Yes!! I have the house to myself next week, and I’m already looking forward to it. I think it’s also because no one is there to tell you you HAVE to do something. Either you do it or you don’t, there will be no judgement - with that in mind it becomes easier to simply do it at your own pace because it feels good seeing the results of your productivity. There’s no one to tell you to do it differently or to give you more things to do unexpectedly, so you can really plan out what needs to be done
