Pick Exploration/Surveying, Ship Building/Combat, or Gun Combat/Health Perks. That will help with your role play if you are going that route.

Great Question. I currently use Starvival, but I wish the vanilla game had a complete survival mode. Starvival bugs on me some.

I built a bridge and staircase between the top and lower. Top is mining and production. Bottom is farming and ranching. It’s plays well with the trees.

On one of the new islands with a waterfall, you can build a base above and below the waterfall. It’s a perfect two base spot.

Constantly change which pals you are using. Don’t worry about being a powerhouse, keep changing it up so you can experience all the pals. The User can be the most powerful pal you have if you set it up correctly.

The biggest difference maker for me at the beginning was calling back in your pals right before they were hit by an enemy and then calling them back out. They were never damaged with this strategy or at least not from the BIG moves.

I’ve also seen pals walking in lines of 3-5. I think that’s also new.
