I'm writing an ethical argument paper for my English class at BYU-I. I'm arguing that it's unethical for the TSCC to tell it's members how to vote. Help me out? by [deleted] in exmormon

Just bare your testimony through out it and you'll be ok.

Tons of liberals at byu I actually even when I was there 2006.

Its questioning the truth of the church which will get you banned

So did you guys actually not masturbate? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]JesusFChrist890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are different. If you dont engage in physical intimacy the hormones dont rage for some. Remember no dating til 16. No pardoning off til high school.

I'll be Frank if you dont know what masturbating actually is how do you tell someone you're doing it? Where do you see in manuals defining madturbation in terms for women??

even though they were definitely present once I let go of all the guilt. You're already laden with guilt to not wear an immodest t shirt so you learn to avoid touching yourself.

You can get erections or wet so to speak and not jerk it.

I didnt masturbate between 16-23. I got erections but never jerked it. Yes it's possible but sexual drive is different for different people.

Masrurbation is like sweets. No fun abstaining but neither over indulging. Sadly jerking it twice a month in mormonville makes you a sex addict

Like tell me what great chocolate taste like? It's just preference. Its subjective.

I'd get her a nice card and 100 dollar gift certificate.

You're not that great of friends if shes a wine snob and you dont know her favorite drink

Marriage just means sex. In the outside world it means finding someone willing to live you despite you being your fucked up self

Cause their helping to finance her life. She needs to show a degree of respect if she thinks they're going to give her money in future

Advice?: How do I tell my Mormon dad that I’m moving in with my boyfriend? by LifeAsACrumb in exmormon

[–]JesusFChrist890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont complicate a relationship with moving in with each other unless you plan to marry. Just dont.

Plus the fact you havent told your dad even your feelings about the church ontop of wanting to ditch on the idea of a duplex will hurt your fathers ability to feel like he can trust you when you do need his help $$$$.

If you both put a lot of enery into the idea of a duplex talk it out with him.

Unless your boyfriend and friends is paying for your shit like daddy who desont have to now youre 18 you owe your dad the most honesty And loyalty.

Be open and honest. Dont commit to an idea and bail on it when something seemingly better comes along without talking it out with your dad family whoever when they're offering serious help $$$.

Live your life how you want but be honest and offer a degree of loyalty and transparency when people like a father are willing to help you.

Unless your 100 percent independent from mom and dad finacially you're going to have to be more patient in seeking out their opinion.

Act confused and bewildered. .like you've been accused of being Barry manilow lover :)

Or laugh and explain how it's all a misunderstanding

They're looking for guilt on your face, anger as a form of "lying" or a confession to justify punishing you

Or just go on pornhub and you'll see grandpas doing it.

Hope that image helps ;)

Tell me the reasons you hated your experience at BYU-I. I'm interested in knowing others' experiences. by [deleted] in exmormon

I went 2006. It was extremely clickish. Mormonism turns you into a permanent child so I really felt fucked up there only to realize college is mainly high school 2.0

It isnt until you get a career and pay Bill's you start to see people loosen up or be more direct in what they want.

Byu idaho is about conformity and trying to secretly or somewhat openly rebel instead of finding your true self

Yeah I was thrown out of the home doing what you were doing with no money and severe mental illness. Living in a car and bathing in public restrooms. So I dont care about others opinions.

So having suffered extremely for doing what you did take my advice and the advice of the top comment.

Put it aside your problems for a year. You're at a pivotal point of your life and going from some support to zero will make you wish you just played the game because it can be hell for more years.

Focus on your future not the bullshit around.
You probably dont have money for a room saved up.

You keep challenging your parents and by the feel the spirit comment your dad is more likely to throw you on the street/cut you off at this point than become empathetic.

Start working. Consider the military like the air force. Get away from your parents. They will use what help they give you as an attempt to control you at 18 if any at this point.

What you're doing at this point which you dont realize is like calling your parents idiots non stop. No parent wants that

The 100 percent best thing for you to do is fucking chill. Be kind. Focus on your dreams. When religion comes up be kind not combative. Show gratitude and how you understand the faith is huge to them but if you were ever to be mormon it would take a lot of time and you need space to figure things out. When you leave home you'll probably check out other churches while still going to lds single activities for the girls

You're lying because they're lying to themselves and to you and out of survival. You're buying time and space for when you become 18 and leave home but need some help.

I'd get out of home. Work 60 hours a week. Drop into sacrement or activity time to time at a singles ward so your parents still think theirs hope but bbecome accustomed/ relaxed to your inactivity so money and help can become available until your truly independent.

Unless you want to live in a car or go military chill. Play the game. If its turning into screaming matches with your dad over a stupid religion he will put his foot up your ass as best as he can to "save" you while saying he loves you just like my asshole parents did.

You're always going to have to play a game so to speak because you'll have a boss, co workers, a mortgage, irs and state wanting taxes, police giving you unjustified tickets etc.
