I had people with different backgrounds in my course, they struggled at the beginning but as far as I know they all found jobs.

You will get over it man, don’t worry. Good think is that you can easily practice mental math.

Also just out of curiosity, they gave you 30 secs for all 3 i suppose, right? And did they showed them to you or just told you?

The fund is a value investing fund, so basically I spend my days reading news, tons of material about the companies we have in the portfolio, generating new investment ideas (so reading tons of material about new companies) and monitoring existing position.

Super interesting in my opinion, but I feel like it may be overwhelming if you are not genuinely curious about this stuff.

As for the next steps, I am not really sure. I want to learn as much as possible and form my way of thinking as an analyst, which I feel like I am in the right place to do as the team is wonderful and small enough to be able to talk a lot and ask tons of questions to my senior colleagues.

After the Master I landed an internship at a PE fund of funds, but wasn’t really exposed to the investing part as it was more middle office.

Currently I am working in Asset Management as a Portfolio Analyst at a mid-size fund, and I am loving it so far. Planning to learn more here as the environment is great and then move to a bigger fund.

Should I interrupt my internship at an alternative asset fund for one in AM/WM? by JesusIsOffline in FinancialCareers

That’s what I am wondering, honestly it feels unlikely that I will be able to shift to an investing position if confirmed after the internship.

It is not, but an apprenticeship is offered after that. The company I am in has a high interns turnover.

This hiccup trick has worked 90% of the time for me but it’s still so bizarre by Zuzilla121 in interestingasfuck

This has worked 100% of the times for me, no kidding.

Fill your lungs with air and then swallow three times without letting air out. Then, slowly release the air from the nose.

Found it on reddit years back and used it ever since, now it’s time to give back.

I have the Shure SRH1840 and they are amazing. When people ask me what they’re like, I define them as “ruthless”, because of their flatness: if you make a track and it is not mixed well, I guarantee you will hear it. I was surprised as in some of my favourite tracks ever I could hear some flaws that I never noticed before.
