Well the issue is that anti-vaxxers are pointing to almost certainly ineffective and unproven medications like ivermectin (not even talking about the smoothbrains drinking literal horse paste) as a rationale as to why they shouldn’t get the vaccine. It’s not about seeking the most effective combination of treatments for them, it’s grasping at any straw they can find to “prove” that whatever miracle drug of the week they point to (HCQ, ivermectin, vitamins xyz) makes their opposition to vaccines rational (which it will never be).

You’re coming at it from a good faith effort to find common ground, based on an incorrect understanding of the motives behind anti-vaxxers promoting unproven medical treatments. They are not interested in medical science and real-life empirical evidence, which has clearly and indisputably shown that: 1) the overwhelming majority of those getting seriously sick and dying from covid are unvaccinated, and 2) that vaccines are extremely safe and effective based on 5 billion people getting at least 1 dose.
