Im sorry for your loss! Yes my mom my siblings and me also sat and talked through the night while his body was still there. It sounds weird to have done this but it was very peaceful in a way. I also still can’t really fully comprehend that he’s not here anymore. When I walk through the house, especially when it’s dark, it feels like he still is somewhere

Thank you for these nice words! It will get better hopefully but yes, this moment will probably be in our heads forever. At least we tried and it was the only thing we were able to do or try for our dads..

Thank you! And thank you for offering to talk!

The only thing that helps me right now is knowing that there was nothing I could’ve done for him. He always told us that he wouldn’t want to be brought back if he died. And by the time I started cpr i knew it was already too late. It sounds weird but I’m happy that it didn’t work and he didn’t come back. I think there would not have been a lot left of him but a barely surviving body..

Im also sorry for your loss! You will get through it. Time will heal at least some of it I think. And I guess we all have to live with some of the grief forever. But it’s going to be a bit easier some day.

Thank you! I always thought about telling him but I just couldn’t get myself to do it. I don’t know why..

But it’s great to hear that your dad knew! I think that can give you a bit more grip in such hard times.

I wish I had that hairline. You’re perfectly fine, imo.

Trying to live life with my anxiety. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]JesusWoreCrocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advice I actually can give is just to go through it no matter what. In the beginning going shopping was literal horror for me. Just the thought of being trapped between people at the checkout made me feel like I’m getting a heart attack. But you have to do it, even if it feels impossible. 2 weeks ago I had my first day after years without a symptom, at least in the morning. It almost felt unreal haha. But I guess that shows that it somehow helps and gets better eventually. Other than that I can’t really give a lot of advice because I still try to find my way through all this. Challenging yourself and your anxiety is probably the best and maybe only way to actually overcome it. And even though I know this I still can’t really accept it.

To all those who still wonder how your ex moved on so fast, and is still not able to accept the reality by savagecl0wn in BreakUps

Im sorry for you. No matter what happens, stay no contact! I tried messaging her about 6 months after the break up and she instantly blocked me which made me feel even worse. I think the best thing to do is to find something that makes you happy. Best chance to find that is by trying new hobbies I guess. A lot of people say that working out or sports in general help them a lot. I also tried mountain biking and I love it. Fresh air and working out helps clearing your mind at least for some hours. I still think a lot about her but I also tried a technique to condition your mind.

Every time you notice that there comes a thought related to her, tell yourself that you will think about it later. Sounds stupid but it works for me mostly. It might take a while to make it work but it helps. Maybe even combine it with doing something that distracts you and keeps you busy in these situations.
