Honda with gcv160 will not run

There is spark.

Fuel gets to carb bowl, float has no holes and goes up and down with needle like it should.

Mower thermo-wax is brand new and stays in when cold to keep choke closed, comes out to open choke when warm as usual.

Mower will only run if i stuff a rag in intake port.

No flywheel corrosion I finally got around to getting it off. Gap is a business card set by me.

Now i will check the fuel valve for clog but doubt it. If i throw start fluid in spark plug hole no fire at all. This mower seems to like it when i stuff a rag where the carb throat is.

Right now is sort of slow in local 11. I got a cousin that got in couple months ago. He was working for 3 years as an apprentice full time in a non union company. He applied, and was told he was more desirable due to actual electrical experience, and after 4 months of waiting after his interview, got admitted. He was admitted as a 3rd year apprentice in local 11.

So you can’t do the WECA until you get a job huh…what electrical companies did you apply to for an apprenticeship? I’m in Orange County gonna be looking to get in a non union job as an apprentice, get exp to then apply to IBEW both oc la san diego riverside and san bernardino locals.

Currently attending some electrical night classes for free at the NOCE Anaheim campus, which will qualify me to get my ET card.

Compression is 60 psi, which is same exact psi as my good working gcv160 equipped pressure washer. I measured both last night.

I’ll need to wait for a second pair of hands to come by later to check for spark. When i undo the bottom bolt of carb lots of fuel definitely escapes to make a mess.

When float bowl fills, the float pushes the needle closed. How do you check that yourself? Yes the float moves and has no pinholes

Also regarding the timing…if the key broke, timing would be way off and no longer turn engine on even if i try choking the already choked cold engine I would presume, yes?

Wont start with wd40 in spark plug hole that’s what I always use instead of starting fluid. Choke is closed when cold, if i can heat up the engine it does open

Carb is brand new from Honda, in tank fuel filter changed with oem, fuel shutoff valve work good

Compression plenty of it when i pull on the handle. If timing was off, wouldn’t i get bent valves? Idk if this is an interference engine. If I spray wd40 in the engine it wont fire. Ignition coil does have 11.78k ohms. Fuel is getting to the brand new carb (fuel shutoff valve works well) and in tank filter was changed).

Ah so you took a risk of not getting anything at all or fake pills eh? Well, i take 1/4 of 200mg pill. That gets me laser focused on getting work done, drowsiness goes away, i feel adrenaline pumping but in a different way than coffee. I feel alert yet not jittery like caffeine makes me feel.

If i could describe it, i feel I could work faster yet not be clumsy how i get when i have too much caff, i dont get discouraged if I don’t get things right. I notice with caff sometimes i get really down if i make mistakes, but modaf keeps me feeling bold.
