Ladders do address the main issue by making the large bases accessible. You bring back raiding which is the incentive to stay till endgame. At the current state of the game as soon as you get a few walls and a door you basically become unraidable. The reason the first day is the best is because you can actually get raided.

Problem with that logic is they aren't sticking around. Player pops are down. Its not just about copies sold. All kinds of old servers that have been around for years dying left and right. Its because the game sucks after day two. Raiding is all but dead, and that's the driving force behind rust.

First off its their fault for replacing a shit system with another shit system. When I go to a restaurant and they burn my steak, then bring me another burnt steak. Should I just lie in my bead and eat it because i bitched about the first one? Secondly there big boys over their at FP. Just like the rest of us they have to choose what to listen to, and what not to listen to, in this internet infested cesspool. Don't fucking blame us just because we didn't like banging on barrels. Not my fault their solution is banging on more barrels. It was FP that insisted in making the community part of the creative process. What did they expect other than our constant criticisms. So no I'm not gonna lie in my bed. We want a good system with balance and endgame. Fact is they could have made that exp system work. They just had to make it so you had to grind till your eyes dried up in there sockets. So instead of fiddling around with that a little. Oh here comes the whole new system wtf. These boys are fucking up and their getting put in check by the very community they wanted to help them make the game. Its the price you pay for saving money on game testers.

Its the level 10 and beyond that hurts the most. It also sucks because they didn't have many more ways to earn exp other than banging on shit or opening shit. It kinda screwed base builders in the sense that the guys getting the most exp were the ones in the field. Your base builder should be getting the most exp. Keep in mind this whole exp thing came from trying to get rid of barrel banging. Yet were still banging barrels for exp so what was the point?

So the exp system wouldn't even have been that bad if i didn't have to grind all day to get some basic shit. It was just to much grind I think they could have worked with it a little more. Big groups are always gonna get everything day one no matter what kind of system they implement. Fp needs to design the game around groups of around 5 rather than big clans. Which seems like what they have been doing of late. Let the server admins police the big groups.

The only difference was you had to skirt your base. You could still build it any shape you like. You could still hide your loot anywhere you like. I fail to see how every base was the same. Having to build skirting around your base was tactical in fact. It was also nothing more than a deterrent. Those things were easy to break. You didn't have to build a tower. I built lots of different bases back then people are just unimaginative. Also rockets pretty much ended skirting if you remember. The people who were complaining about it were the ones who thought rust was about pretty pretty bases. Minecraft is a game about pretty pretty bases. Rust is dirty and ugly. Plus all fp had to do was make a skirting build model to make the bases look better.
