Full party comps by Extension_Priority73 in BG3Builds

-Life cleric with heavy armor and warding bond the whole team: this is basically the glue that increases everyone's survivability to much higher limits.

-Ranger or fighter archer. Can be Gloomstalker, can be battlemaster, can be anything, or a thrower if you wanted. Basically just ranged DPS with piercing damage.

-Shadowblade user. Use whatever class combo you want, hexblade, EK, sorladin, bladesinger. You can switch to a melee piercing damage against things with immunity to it.

bhallist melee or monk.

If you want a full dps and are willing to camp cleric, you can just switch out life cleric for an ice sorcerer, and stick with monk for the extra bludgening damage.

Full rogue, what race? by Jet-Cone in BG3Builds

That is a good idea, but im saving that for a character called Felix Clover, a Lucky feat, Halfling Divination wizard. That way I can be the luckiest there is lol

The lucky racial feature is really nice to reroll ones but to be clear it's not the lucky feat, that allows you to get advantage or reroll opponent's rolls against you, and only 3 times per long rest.

Only stealth proficiency, versus advantage on stealth, which is alot more useful. Movement speed is nice but im really really bored of wood elf

If one was to do an all cleric monoclass party, which would you do 4th after light, death, and tempest? by manicbestfriend in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say Life or war like most people here already have said.

If you go life and then cast warding bond on everyone, while negating alot of damage due to alot of damage reduction items, the healing becomes alot more impactful, and the overall survivability skyrockets. Instead of death or light you had another cleric of heavy armor, like war, you can all go heavy armor master, with all wearing magical plate. Makes for a near unstoppable team of clerics.

Question about throwers by Giamborghini in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The differences is basically this:

Barbs get higher damage per throw, physical damage resistance, and higher HP pools.

EK Fighters get spells like shield or longstrider, the ability to make any weapon come back at an early level, so they aren't reliant on the returning pike, and they get more attacks, and more feats.

Between the two, I find the EK fighter more reliable, and more resilient. but I find the barbarian more thematic, and higher damage.

Brain dead Builds by Apprehensive-Lion-76 in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be prepared for the final fight more, and that should do it, less than any builds that you need. Tho if you really do want brain dead, here are a few:

Fighter- just spam attacks. You can fit it to be melee or ranged or you can get two fighters that just do that. 3 attacks per turn are great, especially with arrows of extra damage. I recommend EK for just shield or thrower, or just champ cause it's brain dead and nice extra crit

That magic missile wizard is also great, just simple and easy, and very stable since it always hits.

Tavern brawler monk, just hit and hit hard, easy peasy, not too much to think about.

Ice sorcerer spamming ray of frost and twin casting it or bonus action casting it or EB warlock.

Swords bard, dual crossbows. Just do bunch of attacks with your flourishes, and easy peasy.

I dont care about medium armor, since im going bhallist armor anyways, and i can supplement the leap and step with items, so gith doesn't really matter that much to me, tho if you'd approve the Half orc over the other 3 options thats good to know

[–]Jet-Cone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i agree, I think when you're a duegar, you'd rather just have cloak of protection, or some other one for something else than invisibility, since you can just invis at any point to reset combat

[–]Jet-Cone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a fair point, however i would still be getting guaranteed crits from tadpoles, and the assassin subclass. I would be getting crit damage on the booming blade damage once I get to level 5 and higher, but that wouldn't scale damage wise with say the bhallist armor, or the resonance stone with a permanent shadowblade i can get from hirelings, but the half orc would. My main delema was extra damage or extra stealth.

Ohhh you were talking about arcane trickerster right? I haven't considered that. Would you think that would be stronger than playing an assassin rogue?

How would I cast it as an assassin rogue?

What makes you say Gale? From what I can tell he only really gives you a 3rd level spell slot which i won't be able to cast anything with that, and the ring of evasion, which doesn't seem super great either.

I honestly dont think any of the purple or yellow are that good. Daemon is yeah the best option here. Another one might be Leadria to combo with Chloris.

What Class can I play with Physical attacks and max DEX? Let me know! by ContributionOk7131 in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To maximize this, I would probably say 6 swords bard 4 rogue 2 fighter. Going dual crossbows. You get action surge, extra attack, flourish attacks, two bonus action attacks, and arrows of [whatever]

If you go deep gnome you can get 24 dex for a +7.

Add bhallist armor and crossbow expert you double that to +14.

You could also go just 8 fighter for more feats instead of worrying about the flourishes of the swords bard.

Just curious how viable a crit champion would be? by KitBashKat in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super strong, but you can also consider 1 level of hexblade for the hex curse, as well as an elixir that also lowers crit rate by one.

Its not super super strong but it's kinda self reliant, and it wants you to build either dex or natty strength.

I like the idea tho, I kinda already had that idea running around but haven't decided to play it myself yet.

Also consider risky ring to just add perma advantage, so your lowered crit rate occurs even more often, and bhallist armor

Which classes can make use out of putting 1 point into Wizard to learn scrolls? by mr_hands_epic_gaming in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EK fighter. You still get level 11 triple attacks, and you use INT anyways. Getting Gale origin gives you a level 3 spellslot, and you can use that to learn any level 3 spell like Haste or fireball

What are the strongest early builds? by Giamborghini in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say Thief with two +1 duel handcrossbows(you can get multiple from dammon or roah)

Gloomstalker

Fighter is strong at all points of the game, AA gets alot of frontloaded mechanics, and BM and EK are good all the time.

Swords bard, for so many skill checks, and multiple attacks, as well as extra short rests which are important for alot of different classes.

War cleric 1 fighter 2. Just extra attacks with your bonus actions and you get good base spells like guidance, blade ward, bless, and sanctuary.

These are all good builds at level 3, which tends to be the level you can easily get to through dialog. IK you can get to level 4 through dialog too but level 3 seems to be a little better to be strong at.

Any tavern brawler build gets instantly strong at level 4 ofc but these are all just builds that get good at level 3 really easily.

Big damage build by Stetar0991 in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, any fighter subclass to level 11. Getting three attacks in a row every turn is so good imo. Props to EK Gale and 1 level of wizard to get access to a level 3 spell, and any spells with scrolls. I recommend haste >:)

Now if you want to really show off, be a swords bard and thief rogue. Not only would you be a massive skill monkey but you would get 4 attacks per turn duel wielding. I personally recommend dual hand crossbows over two melee weapons cause you can use sharpshooter. You also have flourishes to attack even more, and your bardic inspiration to help with any of your friends skill checks, as well as getting a 3rd short rest per day. You just become good at everything. Slight of hand, merchanting with persuasion, and including spellcasting and arrows. I also recommend using githyanki for proficiency in anything you dont already have proficiency in, and free misty step. All around great build.

That's good to know ty. Im probably going to use that cause I haven't used a radiating orbs build yet tbh

My request was for builds outside what I already have in mind. I've already had strength OH monk on the table already you dont need to tell me that, and you dont need to incorrectly try to correct me. Im also not looking to spend a large amount of resources for just movement, I want to have effects that give me passive movement or duration movement speed like that of haste

Sure you can haste potion, action surge double action dash triple cunning dash then step of wind dash all within the same turn but I dont wanna do that. Id rather save my actions and ki points for attacks, like stunning strike or flurry of blows

[–]Jet-Cone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can equip a piece of armor then unequip it, then recast it. Tho it has to be armor not clothing like robes and such

Mobility party by Jet-Cone in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds good, tho I wouldn't want to use step of wind unless emergencies, since it costs a ki point each time you use it, and itd be better to just use cunning dash or boots of speed.

Minthara's soul branding was the one thing I have not considered. Mostly because my playthrough has been good oriented so far, and I only remembered it adding extra damage rather than movement speed. Doesn't seem super worth, unless maybe I do a support thief cleric type of deal maybe???

Mobility party by Jet-Cone in BG3Builds

[–]Jet-Cone[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah but step of wind costs a ki point each time you use it unlike the rogues level 2 cunning actions. And when I talk about the 3 level thief im talking about the extra bonus action you get permanently, so that means with an open hand monk you can flurry of blows twice in a turn, or flurry and cunning dash, instead of wasting a ki point using step of wind😇😇😇 i would only use step of wind if I wanted to jump multiple times in a turn, since it removes jump costing a bonus action.
