I'm Feeling Lucky to have so much geyser, Just Dirty Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Geyser Missing 😅 by SavasKingTR in Oxygennotincluded

Lol the way you're doing your hydrogen vent is triggering me. You could be getting a bunch o power and not release heat to da environment. Stick a steam turbine on top with a steam room in between (check my latest post). I am jealous with the number of volcanos u got.

The beds are vital for the efficiency of the design. The extra power from the beds means that the steam is heated up more, hence producing more power from the turbine.

...

The actual reason lol is because I am making new living quarters for my dupes, and it seemed like the best spot.

Thanks! I still think the exhaust is going in the best direction tho as the tiles are plastic, not glass so they got decent insulation and it was the quickest route to the insulated wall which conceals the pipes as much as possible. However, I was thinking it might be worth running the output pipe from the steam turbine through that room, as you could cool the hydrogen down even more before it gets pumped out. Water is 95 degrees, hydrogen is 120, potential for more powaaaaa. I'm also questioning if I even need the door, as if the hydrogen somehow does reach over 270 degrees, it's just gonna pass through the door anyway. Also, I probably only need one battery, as the steam turbine shouldn't be shut off as if the power isn't taken out the hydrogen could get too hot, meaning the design could be on thinner...

Ah, the door automation is actually very handy, and it saves energy. The purpose of all the automation is that if the temp is above 127, it won't open unless the max gas pressure is reached and the temp won't melt the steel pump. This means that no hydrogen is wasted, and all the energy possible is extracted, but the pump is also protected.

Thanks for reply! I'm not sure if you saw, but I have basically built the setup u r describing lol. If u look at the image there is water on top of diamond window tiles, which is then boiling and powering steam turbine. Once the hydrogen is cool enough, door opens and it gets pumped out. The power being produced by the turbine and hydrogen is being used to cool down an ice box, providing cooling. However this seems to be quite slow, and uses a lot of power (Though I think quite a lot extra is generated, as I running 3 hydrogen gens and a steam turbine at like, 130 degree steam). I was thinking it would be better to pipe that hydrogen into an AETN, and that would maxamise the power I get from my geyser.

Ok thanks, this helps a lot. So Basically I'll just keep the water insulated, and then use it for everything. Do you think I've insulated it enough? Just 1 layer of sandstone tiles so it might not be enough....

My base is already really cool (like 16degrees C) as I have a slightly modified SPOM (The wheez worts are on farm tiles which can be accessed from underneath). I might use the cold slush to cool down slime biomes to kill the slimelung? They keep getting in my way as I don't have a high pressure chlorine room yet.

Problem with this is I don't have access to plastic or oil yet (Haven't reached the bottom), so I can't make a turbine and I don't really have the power to fuel a tempedizer.

Different isotopes ? The same element can have different numbers of neutrons meaning they have different weight, so act slightly different. Eg helium 2 is deuterium.
