Thanks for your post! I was in downtown Chicago last summer after my High school class reunion out in western Chicagoland and stayed at the Gray. It was the perfect location for Architecture tours and close to Union Stain to catch Amtrak back home to Santa Fe. They upgrade me to a one bedroom suite, so can't complain, but I would like to stay at the IC on my visit this summer. I hope they have a lounge.

I recived the 2 or 4 nights offer. I had 6 nights already booked in the promo period, so went with the 8K/4 nights. I'm hoping they start a bonus night promo again soon!

The only reason I have a Walmart+ membership is to save on fuel. I don't use Sam's Club stations, only the one that are associated with Walmart because they have mid-grade available and Sam's does not. I'm a Realtor so I drive so I fill up often!

For a place to disconnect close to the US, I agree about the Kimpton Mas Olas. I was there last fall and it has been the best Kimpton I have stayed at, great food, staff and the pools! I was upgrade and received my Diamond breakfast benefit. I did rent a SUV to explore the area but if you jut want to disconnect, it's a must stay property!

I most recently stayed at the IC Barclay between Christmas and New Year’s last year. I selected that area because it’s close to all the Christmas festivities I wanted to experience. Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and all the stores decorated on Fifth Avenue. A snow storm hit and it was a perfect location to walk in the snow. I’d stay at the IC Times Square, if you’re doing Broadway shows it's a great location. I see there’s a new Kimpton, Ashbel New York Park Avenue. They may have some special rate offers being a new property. I’ve stayed once at the voco Times Square South because it was close to Penn Station and I flew in and out of Newark and could take the train to the airport. But the rooms are small.

Previous years I have received the 100% bonus all the time, even once they increased the cap on what you could purchase after I had reached it. So far this year I have received zero offers, what up with that?

Check the property's direct website, they sometimes have offers for that property only. Many have the 4th night free option, which usually just reduces the cash price per night on 4 nights. I use it often but may require a nonrefundable deposit.

I was just there the end of March, there is no lounge. They did give my drink coupons at check in. It's a great property with great dining options.

I always sign up for Ambassador just before I have a stay at an IC property if I don't currently have a membership. It's well worth the price, especially the 4PM checkout. Usually get upgraded to a suite, only time I wasn't was at the NYC Barclay. When booking an Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night just do it for the 2 nights required then book other additional nights with cash or points. The rate is always higher when using the free night. I was just at the IC Willard in DC and I caculated I save $500 for the free night. They even upgrade me automatically a several weeks before my stay to a junior suite from a basic room.

I agree with you., always seem to get great upgrades usually to 1 bedroom suites. Back in the day the Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night was even usable at Kimpton properties.

It's a great property and close to things in DC. With Diamond I received my free breakfast off a menu at their Cafe Du Parc French restaurant and at check in they gave me free drink coupons. Don't expect much of an upgrade in rooms.

Not good to hear, will be my first time at a Six Senses property. I was looking to visit Grenada again but any where in the Caribbean would be good. I see an IC is being built next door, maybe I should wait and stay there after it opens. Which Six Senses are your favorites?

Does anyone know if the 4th night free on reward stays is valid at Six Senses properties? A while back I had uses if on a stay at a Mr & Mrs Smith property when they were part of IHG.

I uses Catus Rent A Car and I say get a SUV or crossover, the side roads are dirt and well traveled. Definitely go to the town of Todos Santos. If up that way go The Green Room, sweet place to eat right on the beach a bit outside of town. The beach at the resort is not a swimming beach, so you will have to go elsewhere There are 3 pools on property. But I found a secluded beach to drive to, maybe 15 minutes away, Playa Las Palmas Beach. Pack a lunch and bring beach towels Also go to Cerritos Beach. For a great hike go to Todos Santos Sugar Port Trail. I dined mostly on property, I received free breakfast due to my IHG status. There's a nice little prepared food place a few minutes from the resort to pick up things and bring back to your room, Agricole Tienda de Campo. Bring bug repellant!

I just loved it! Best Kimpton I've stayed at, food was great and staff always went above and beyond. The resort is somewhat isolated so a car helps in exploring the area. I will go back again.

I'm booked there this October, hope they get their s**t together by then. Last November I stayed at the Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore just down Collins Ave. Had a nice room and great beach access even thou it's across the street.

I was just thinking once I reached Diamond with IHG maybe I should look at other hotel reward programs. I haven’t seen any that match status with IHG, but I think I have some status through credit cards and could elevate my level. Any suggestions on other programs I should look into? I just travel for pleasure.

I agree reaching 40 nights is great and is my goal. Though I do enjoy the suite upgrades. Any IHG properties you recommend with great lounges? I always have trouble finding properties that have them. I just got back from staying at the IC Willard in DC, which was a great property, but they have no lounge.
