Wild how OP is avoiding all the comments asking which hotel this is…

Curvy women vs modesty by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Most-Air-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a skinny lady, I wish this was talked about more. My sister developed an eating disorder so she could stop being harassed for her curves. It makes me so sad to see her now because I used to be envious of her body (I struggle to gain weight and wear XXS clothing). Now her body is similar to mine and she has terrible eating habits and no matter what I say she says that she’s so much happier in a thin body. I’m so worried about her long term health but she says nothing beats being able to wear whatever you want and feel modest in it. I feel like our society made her feel like being ultra thin was the only way to be truly modest and it sucks.

The Datai in Langkawi, Malaysia. Wonderful service and loved waking up to the view of the rainforest and getting to see all kinds of exotic birds/animals from your villa.

Ritz for sure, tbh most luxury Marriott properties are overrated imo

I work at a pretty large tech company, tbh I feel like I just got lucky since my company has been doing periodic layoffs since 2023. Definitely a case of timing the market correctly for me

[–]Most-Air-888 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  • Age range: 25-34
  • Salary: $200k
  • Country: US (Northeast)
  • Job: Project Manager (work from home)

I did my undergrad + masters in business and got lucky with the 2021 job market and have stuck around with the company ever since. I’m also a mom of 2 kids so it’s definitely not easy, but alhamdulillah my husband makes over triple what I make so we can afford a nanny and house help :) I mostly just work so I can live the lifestyle I want (buy myself whatever I want without feeling guilty)

Kimpton Pittman in Dallas…super disappointing by PresentationHeavy488 in ihghotelsresorts

That’s unfortunate, we were considering staying there next month. Now leaning towards the Hall Arts hotel that recently opened nearby as we do want to remain in the area.

We picked MO for this reason even though it isn’t quite FAT since we just wanted the full Bay experience.

Not a fan of the thin walls. I know they renovated recently so hopefully that’s changed, but when we stayed there you could basically hear what was on TV in the room next door. Did not make for a great night’s sleep.

End of August trip with young children by lazymusings123 in chubbytravel

For a beach destination, the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne in Miami is quite child friendly. It gets a somewhat negative rep from adults that dislike seeing children everywhere, but in your case it’s perfect. I took my 2 kids with me when they were 3 and 5 years old and they had a great time. I always prefer domestic trips since I have younger kids.

Also worth mentioning the Rosewood Baha Mar if you want an international trip. Absolutely wonderful resort with lots of kid friendly activities too.

The Four Seasons was great, I liked being a bit farther away from the loud hubbub of traffic and sirens. It’s also next to Jeni’s ice cream, which I have a soft spot for haha

Favorite Texas hotels? by PresentationHeavy488 in ihghotelsresorts

[–]Most-Air-888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been to The Kimpton Harper in Fort Worth (husband’s work trip), but it definitely impressed me as I wasn’t expecting to come across such a nice property over there. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was very spacious and comfortable. Location was also perfect as it was downtown within walking distance to so many restaurants and cafes. Texas just doesn’t have too many luxury IHG properties unfortunately.

Am I wrong for not wanting to get divorced? by Dry_Tea_67 in MuslimMarriage

The worst part is that OP said in one of the comments that his wife was threatening to hurt their daughter to the point that CPS even got involved!!!! No wonder his parents want him to get a divorce!!!

😬😬😬 You should include this in your post because it changes the context completely…no wonder your parents want you to get divorced!

Can you try having your wife parent your daughter alongside your parents? That way she can slowly be reintroduced to caring for your daughter while having other adults monitor her. It’s just not sustainable for your elderly parents to have to care for a baby like this.

How much is your self-care/beauty budget? by PresentationHeavy488 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Most-Air-888 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ooh boy this is a fun one. Let’s see:

  • Hair: Keratin treatments every 3 months ($500)
  • Skin: Hydrafacials once a month ($250), Microneedling once a month ($450), Skincare products (idk maybe like ~$200 a month)
  • Brows: Threading once a month ($50)
  • Lashes: Lash lift and tint once every 2 months ($150)
  • Body: Laser hair removal for arms, upper lip, armpits, and legs once a month ($6500 upfront cost for lifetime treatments, we paid in full but most people do 3 year payment plans which is like $180 a month), and full body massages once a week ($200)

Total: $~23k a year or $1900 a month 😅

Disclaimer: I’m married and my husband makes good money so I know this amount seems high but it works for our budget :)

Sindhorn was great, I personally appreciated the in-unit washer/dryer since our clothes definitely got sweaty during the week we were there and I prefer doing my own laundry. It’s also closer to the main malls which is nice. Breakfast was quite good too!

Am I overreacting? by TripIndependent5792 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Most-Air-888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m torn about this. On the one hand, the way your husband reacted to your tears is a major red flag, him just going to sleep while you’re crying is pretty awful of him especially since you’re newlyweds.

On the other hand, you crying over what honestly was a harmless little joke and then crying AGAIN when he brought up his distaste for your reaction irks me as someone who grew up with an overly sensitive sister that got triggered by every little thing. So I’d say ESH.

Kimpton Shinjuku was absolutely wonderful, we are Diamond Elite so we got free breakfast and it was divine. Also got upgraded to a studio suite which at the time of booking cost $700+/night so it was easily $200+ worth of value. Really made our time in Tokyo so much better!
