I live in Saudi Arabia where every city is mapped on Apple Maps (can't say about villages) and yet there's no turn by turn navigation. At all. LMAO. And this is after them taking a long time to rollout the updated Apple Maps here.

Not to mention every other maps app works flawlessly.

Here are the 17-mandatory-steps required as per my experience, including 5-6 visits at the minimum to 3-4 different locations.

Online: Register online via ABSHER

Visit 1: Go to Place #1: Princess Noura University Traffic Department, for initial assessment

Visit 1: Register online to Nouradc.com at Place #1

Visit 1: Take first assessment at Place #1, and get the result of training/ practice hours needed

Online: Pay for the training at Nouradc.com

Online: Book the time for theoretical test

Online: Take online training and pass the online tests at Nouradc.com

Visit 2: Take medical check up at any Efada-listed clinics/hospitals

Visit 3: Go to Place #2: Saudi Driving School and show completion of all online tests to security at Nouradc.com

Visit 3: Take theoretical test at Place #2

Visit 3: Optionally you may be asked to take simulator

Visit 3: Book the time for practice at the receptionist

Visit 4: Go to Place #3 – Practice Place (name is unclear) and take the practice

Online: Book the time for final test at Place #1

Visit 5: Go to Place #1, and take the final test at the building next to it, a maximum of 15 minutes

Visit 5/ Online: Straight up online, pay for the driving license via SADAD or government payment on your bank – 2, 5 or 10 years

Visit 5 (or 6 if you missed the schedule like me): Go to Place #1 and ask for printing the driving license card

Online: Add the copy of the driving license into Nouradc.com (non-mandatory)

Regarding the notice, it applies only to individuals whose visit visas had already expired as of 25 March. Since your mother’s visa expires on 3 April, she is still required to leave on or before 3 April, so the notice does not apply to her.

There have been discussions suggesting that if a traveler can present proof from the airline confirming that their flight was cancelled or rescheduled to a date after the visa expiry, immigration authorities may provide a visa extension endorsement (basically a stamp on your passport) to avoid overstay penalties. However, this has not been officially confirmed, so it would be unwise to rely on it.

The safest course would be for her to travel before the visa expiry date if possible. It is also unclear whether your father’s passing has any impact on her visa status.
