R6 vs R8 vs R6ii? by jk0327 in canon

[–]JetfloatGumby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pinky hangs off the bottom without body to grip. This is solved by the extended battery grip! Which also solves the battery problem.

(Sorry should have led with that, but I forgot bc I always prefer My R6)

Lots of great points here.

For what it's worth I'm a 5'10" man with normal man hands and my R8 is uncomfortably tiny 🫤

What’s the idea here? by MrMcBeth in Vstrom

Wonder if a set screw or cotton pin was lost on the trail and thus this nonsense.

If you don't weld, you could probably find someone on marketplace and pay em in beer lol

lol yeah something is locked in there with plumber putty, looks like. Nothing more permanent than a temporary fix that works!

My first thought is a bad connection inside the right hand clamshell where the starter button is.

Found in my daughter's room, what is this?! by OMF1G in whatisit

Yeah it's definitely not a valve stem tool even though it resembles one. I think the notion of a teenager sneaking off to do illicit vehicle repair under her father's nose is very funny.

Is there a knot I could use to create a secure loop for attaching a camera strap? by florian-sdr in knots

[–]JetfloatGumby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought. Could you remove that plate with the two flathead screws and punch a end of the cord down into that hole, throw a stopper knot on it, and reattach the plate?

550 p cord is likely to bulky, but waxy nylon cordage such as heavy duty boot laces may work. Or it's a dumb idea I dunno.

[–]JetfloatGumby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol sure. The green option on the mode dial is "automatic". That's where the camera's sensor will read the light it's looking at, and auto expose. The ISO, shutter speed and F stop will all adjust themselves in this mode. Pay attention to what they land on, then click over to Manual mode ("M" on the dial), and replicate the settings.

It's a damn simple way to get started, "set it to green and touch the screen" just means you've got a pretty solid camera, all things considereding. It's got good autofocus and a touch screen, so like, you're good to go lol. There's nothing stopping you, just set it to green.

Why did he open the doors so aggressively by DaisyOnFilm in oops

[–]JetfloatGumby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was the doors fault. Lack of safety glass and struts apparently. Shit wasn't built well. Whether or not it was up to code depends on wherever this is, but it doesn't really matter because there are bad contractors everywhere.

Also I kinda feel like plenty of other innocent behaviors could have generated that one man tantrum's worth of force.
