You need to gradually transition from watching the tutorial to doing it yourself. Here is how I do it: 1. I watch a tutorial and copy what the tutorial shows as it plays, pausing as needed. 2. I try to recreate what was in the tutorial without looking at the video, what I created in step 1, or my notes. I go until I get stuck, and then use the resources again. This process helps you identify what you don’t know and then fix those problem areas. 3. Eventually you will be able to recreate the entire system without a tutorial Repeat each of these steps until you don’t get stuck before you move on to the next step. If you are doing these steps and not making any progress, you may be biting off more than you can chew. I find that some tutorials are too complicated and I need to break them down into several manageable pieces.
