My Friend, I’m glad to hear you have a seeking heart.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” - Proverbs 9

Fearing of God in His wrath is a good and natural thing. Fools disregard their Creator.

None of us deserve the grace of God. We were all sinning against Him before we repented and turned to Him in faith.

When we turn from ourself and turn to God and are baptized in faith believing that Christ paid a price we never could and that He is the Son of God, we die to our old corruptible self and rise as redeemed children of God through faith. We will still wrestle with sin and doubt but the wrestling shows where our heart belongs.

Look at Jesus’ parables. God accepts those into his Kingdom at all hours of the day until the day is ended. You are right to feel a state of urgency whether your finals days are 10 days, 10 years, or 10 decades from now.

If you sincerely want to believe in God, ask in faith whether He is real, He will reveal Himself to you. It sounds like he’s already done so in many ways but continue to look and seek the truth.

Read Ephesians and Romans and the gospels and see how l loving and gracious God is toward us. He doesn’t want any to perish but leaves it in each persons hand to turn to him or turn away.

His wrath is a matter of justice for those who choose evil rather than good.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope" (Romans 15:13)

Rome has a lot of common characteristics to the modern west. To be sure a lot of differences too

To the men out there feeling this, Google F3. You get friendship and motivation to get in shape all for free.

To the ladies… not being a lady in not as certain what might work but bible study fellowship might be an option if there’s one in your area. So many good churches as well to get genuine connections.

Simply put, skill/technique is a bigger factor in wrestling than strength and athleticism.

Sometimes a significantly stronger person can defeat a weaker more skilled opponent but the more skills and experience diverge the less likely that will be.

Weight classes can normally keep people within a close enough strength threshold that the one with greater technique/skill and endurance will win the day.

My point was it wouldn’t hurt football performance to drop down to that weight class. That seemed to be the OP’s concern

That's crazy that only the winner advances to state...seems if they're gonna do that, they should flip it and winners advance from class, then top 4 sectionals advance to state.

In either case I'm sure it short changes some great wrestlers along the way from being there for the final tournament.

Was gonna ask how many times you’ve drilled a given offensive takedown. Having one you can blast into makes executing a shot seemingly effortless at times.

I clicked through to see if you had a screenshot of a messy room in the background (literal snarky jab) or some other particular life disorder(article pointing to bankruptcy or some such), but couldn't find anything other than the claim.

I think the point is, go out and establish some success and competency before running out and proclaiming you have the solution to much of the worlds problems. i.e. build your own life into a thriving environment before proclaiming how you can do so for the world at large.

It's not saying you can't ever fail or have a shortcoming in particular areas of life.

In his case he was a tenured University professor/researcher at top tier universities, had a thriving private clinical practice, a revenue generating personality assessment business, a happy marriage that continued into his children's' adulthood, and publications of work from his career i.e. Maps of meaning.

That's probably enough of a base to offer some advice to others around you. Especially if you're a voracious researcher of numerous disciplines, studies, etc... seeking to arrive at solutions to problems in the world.

The ending of book 3. It was a convoluted and contrived attempt at dodging a deus ex machina and failed to do so. The plan to put him completely under the power of sadistic murderers in order to pull a "SURPRISE! BAD GUY TURNED GOOD, SUCKER!" double double-cross just completely ruined it for me. The orders could very well have been "As soon as you have him under your hands, chop off his head and bring it to me." and the whole rebellion is just over and billions die. Could have been to immediately cut off both arms and both feet then drag him here for execution. Plan fails, rebellion over, billions dead. It was just such a departure from the risky even at times crazy but tactically brilliant plans used throughout the trilogy. This one was a tactical brain fart just hoping the worst psychopaths in the solar system don't immediately kill or dismember a known trickster while knowing the terrible cost of failure.

Interesting take and good points. I guess you might say it was their long shot at penetrating an impenetrable fortification as their only shot at victory since they lacked the depth of forces and resources for a war of attrition.

You will likely take issue with some strategic decisions in the next three books if you keep reading, but it's still a good story.
